I guess I was smart enough to disappear before I had to pay the price for my incompetence. Or maybe I forgot to give my orc a nickname.  In any case, I want to make wasps attack people.

Well, easier said then done with me as the overseer. I have no real idea how the orcfort magic system works... kinda learning that as I go.

I know how to raid, I know how to make orcs pound elves into paste... um... never found a reason to learn anything else really.  :)

Quick overview:

There's some spells that are specific to each type of elite spellcaster, that can't be learned in other ways.  So with your Druidic Codex you can make any dreamwalkers into Druids and they will gain some core spells.  The codex was pretty expensive but you should be able to use it forever / until a raccoon steals it.

There are lots of spells that any magic user can learn from Mojos at the corresponding temple.  He learns it permanently, but the Mojo is used up.  Get mojos lots of ways: rituals, trade for spellbooks, loot from raids, or  Obsidian Spire Library.

There's some spells that any magic user can temporarily gain by wielding an Arcane weapon in main and/or a Dreamcatcher in the off hand.  Most reliable place to get these is Arcane Forge.

Finally, there are runic ammo that you can fire from Arcane weapons.  You craft the "blanks" at the Arcane forge, and then imbue them with spells at the temples.

Well, pounding elves is the most important thing, with raiding a close second.  If you can raid us up some orichalcum from the ancient ruins, that will go a long way toward equipping our spellcasters to stomp some elves with magic.

Yeah.  And you seem to have gotten a ton of raiding in so far this year  8)

Thanks for the heads up Snake, and great mod.

Year is only half done... raided the crap out of the dwarves, got a fluid thingamabob to make me some magma. Might have to find the magma sea now, and stop polluting the environment burning coal. Especially now I have chopped down all the trees on the map.

My other tasks...

Arcane Forge - check
Forge a Drudic Ivyvine Whip - x2 - check
runerobes x2 - check
Personal Totem Pole? - you can bloody share it with Deep Blue.

Warrior Society Meadhall - 2 iron armor stands, 2 iron weapon racks, 2 iron statues... so that's 6x3 = 18 bars of iron required... I have 12 (6 of which are being used as building components). Well thats probably not going to happen on my tenure.

Heavy Weapon Armory - check
Welded Mithril Toothed Axe - check
Roll of Rusty Iron Barbed Wire - check (extra tetanus for the elves)
Pulley - what the fuck? (Raws say Armsdealer or Trap Engineer)

I will probably get it build eventually.

Journal of Warchief Navatar, Warcamp BurstScourge
Late Summer, 125

With the elves lying dead on the field the next to useless Snaga run with glee onto the field of battle to poke at the corpses of the elves, giving them a little additional tenderisation before tonight’s feast of elf steak. They then threw away the lovely bows that our craftsorc had made and looted the elven bows as I watched. 4 great bows, 2 composite and 5 recurve bows, all made of mithril.

12th Galena, Late Summer, 125

Glugburz Duumbaghor has claimed a metalsmith forge and stolen a bar bloodsteel and some cloth. Sequestered away he has been hammering and rubbing himself and doing who knows what in there…

16th Galena, Late Summer, 125

Curses, the enemy is upon us, Human Imperials. I guess they really didn’t like us burning their villages and stealing their secret plans. The loot of the battle with the elves still lies on the field awaiting collection and the newly commissioned guard tower has not yet been finished. Sound the alarm and withdraw to the palisades.

Scouts report 17 hostiles, 15 Maceguard and a Bowguard riding a fearsome great bull. They begin their approach and then stop… and set up a campfire. Apparently these fearsome warriors are her for a bit of a picnic.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Glugburz cries in triumph, hoisting Urguurubpushmat, a bloodsteel scimitar. Why thankyou Glugburz, how did you know that’s what I wanted? It will match my shield quite nicely.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Now about those humans, it is time for a sortie. The archers were sent in first, with the plate clad swords, spears and axes following. The pair of druids decided to tag along and toss clay at the humans. The battle was short and bloody, I managed to only cut down a single foe with my new blade. Omega got a scalp, as did Deep Blue. Urb ‘Torturous Hatchet of Bogs’ was the true hero today, cutting down four of the steel clad humans. 11 of the 16 humans left their corpses behind.  A few cuts and bruises was the cost of battle, nothing that the shamans can’t deal with.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

While we were busy with the battle, the orc traders set up shop. They had little of interest, but we acquired some plants to make booze to sell to the raiders for coin. All it cost us was a few bits of bone artwork made from the corpses of the fallen, a nice renewable resource.

Autumn, 125

The warband has become organised and things are progressing smoothly. The raids on the dwarves have continued and we have begun stockpiling metal. The raids managed to capture a dwarven slave, who has been put to work in the mines collecting ores and usable stone to fuel the war machines. The trio of boat builders have been hard at work and have led raids on the surrounding area capturing many goblin and kobold workers who have been shackled and put to work.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The dormitory keep has been completed and work progresses on the second floor to house a new dining hall. A storage basement has been dug in readiness of stocking with food and drink.

Raids on the ancient ruins went well, capturing the resources requested by the demanding druids. Hopefully they will just shut up now and go back to flinging clay at each other and looking after the drooling Uruk’s broken brain.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sandstone, Mid-Autumn, 125

The Ancient Foundry is built and the druids have their Ivy Whip things. The masons have almost finished the Temple of the Spire, only have one of the alters left to build. Sha’De finally got himself his chainaxe, a masterwork quality welded mithril one no less.

11 more orcs joined the Horde today. Only a single Uruk was of note, the three Snaga’s hurried out of my way on arrival. I don’t know why, its been many a year since I wrenched a Snaga’s head off in anger. Still, with the additional labour it is time to start the task which was the reason I agreed to be the warleader of this horde – the building of my own tower. A modest five story tower should suffice and there should be enough time to complete it and furnish it, while not neglecting the primary goals of killing pointy-eared freaks and raiding!

Oddly enough the drooling Uruk has decided to get out of bed and attend training sessions. That leaves only some weakling Snaga Archer in the hospital, who can die for all I care.

Late-Autumn, 125

Things are going well, surprisingly well. The drow raiders have returned with an unexpected bounty – A sorcerers codex.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

To celebrate, we are letting the last dreamwalker take the ritual to become a sorcerer.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The first raid returns from plundering the hated enemy, the pointy eared freaks returning with a secret blueprint and a steel assassin codex.

16th Timber, Late-Autumn, 125

Caravans have arrived from the Chaos Dwarves, the Goblins and the Homeland. Little time has been spent on creating tradegoods, but we will see what they have. Apparently not much we can afford. Trading with the homeland for some breeding stock and some blueprints we bid them farewell. There is little they can provide that we cannot raid for.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

With the stock of bones almost out, Sha’De gets sent out to hunt the flock of emus to test out his new chain axe.

Journal of Warchief Navatar, Warcamp BurstScourge
Winter, 125

The traders continue to sit in the depot with their goods laid out. They really don’t have anything we want so they can just continue to do so.

An Uruk went mad, probably because of his limp, claimed a crafts shop and started to carve things. Might have to put him to pasture when he is done, not the sort I want in my warband. He made something of little consequence and got back to training like he should be.

Building of the living tower progresses nicely. The ground floor dormitory is complete and furnished, the first floor dining hall has seating for 30, and still needs a few more tables and chairs to be completed. The second floor hospital has been completed with 16 beds, 4 tables and 2 chests. The third floor has been walled but lacks a roof. No idea what it will be for.

The hunt for codex’s is nearly complete, only missing the oracle dreamwalkers codex now.

The Meadhall has been finished, along with the Legion Auxilla Outpost, the Underdark Nethermill and the Treesingers Pagoda.

Ambush!

The sneaky drow have attacked, while their traders are inside the palisade. Sound the alarm. Scouts report some 15 drow, mostly claivemasters and a single giant ant are inbound. They have killed somebodies pets and are almost at the gate!

Victory is ours, after a brief and bloody skirmish. Only 2 drow escaped the field of battle, the rest, including the ant litter the field. In disgust I have thrown my artefact sword away and claimed a masterwork longsword, as I failed to land the killing strike on a single enemy. My squadmates took all the glory for themselves. At least Sha’De and Omega also failed to kill any enemy.

My year is at an end, it’s time to pass the reins on to my successor. The military is growing strong but could be better equipped. The Druids and the Sorcerer need attention and you get to pick what society we will follow in the meadhall.

The Fortress

Ground Floor – Main workshops

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Lower Ground – Drydocks, Baazars, Factory, Bulk Storage

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Tower – Dormitory, Royal Dining Room, Hospital.  Take note of the lever in the dining room, it will retract the drawbridge if required, thou I have never tested this feature

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Spire – Where the druids and the sorcerers do their thing

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oh, I see the icon I used for longboats and for the huts/shanties became candelabras :)

Great year, Navatar!  Looks like the future clanleaders will be fighting from a strong position.

That was an incredible year and writeup.  I can't believe how much you managed to raid.  The elves won't stand a chance before our might.

I like what you did with the spire.

Ok: this fort is doing amazing, I can't promise I'll understand or even make heads or tails of the magic workshops, if our sorcerers and shamans have orders for me, they should post them.

My agenda is going to be:
a. cavern hunting outpost
b. pirate ship.

We will see how it goes.
