The new research system has broken Orc fortress forges because they need breakthrough in science reagent .

Thanks. I didnt even knew orcs were using dwarf buildings... I'll fix that.

EDIT: I could only find this:
   Line 1571: [PERMITTED_BUILDING:MAGMA_METALLURGIST]
   Line 1572: [PERMITTED_BUILDING:METALLURGIST]

All others should work, no?






For the orc players: Orc Fix - Access to Ore Processor
Fix for the orc entity. Copy it into dwarf fortress/objects/raw and replace the old file.

Hey every time the second Goblin merchant caravan comes my game locks up and crashes. The first one comes and leaves just fine.

Odd. I've never heard of this before. When you say the game locks up, what happens? The FPS drops to zero? The whole interface freezes and you can't enter commands?

i recently started an orc fort from masterworks 4c version.

apparently there are no longer buildingplans needed for every outlander techbuilding and no kobold- or goblincaptives for their workshops... only the dwarf, drow, human and elf labourcells still need captives.

i recently started an orc fort from masterworks 4c version.

That was fixed back in November, so any recent release (eg: 4e, or Studded With Patches) will have that fixed.

Thanks for the hint!

But now I have the next problem: In the embark screen i can not choose unarmored cragtooth boars. So i just took piglets, but it turned out that they also grow into ironclad cragtooh boars - and as i recall they won't breed right?

They dont breed if you turn your unarmored pets into armored pets, because the transformation adds the STERILE tag, which is only possible by interaction. The ones you buy/migrate are still sterile, because they never have been affected with the syndrome of the transformation.

i just don't see it reasonable that i can only embark with sterile boars. ;)

I've been having issues with the orc version of the rune workshop.  I engraved a masterwork welded mithril dai-katana with gold runes a couple fort years ago, and I just noticed that the 'gold rune covering' is now gone.  There's a blood covering on it instead.  I know that the rune coverings aren't supposed to wash off, and they haven't ever dissapeared in dwarf mode.  I am positive this is the weapon I had engraved.

Is the "Cremate invader corpse for ash(50%)" reaction in the smelter supposed to work still?  I ask because I've been working on cleaning up the various materials / inorganics and am now checking the reaction files for any reactions that may no longer work due to this.

The reaction only qualifies its REAGENT with the REACTION_CLASS:CORPSE, which only exists on the materials [INORGANIC:BLANK_CORPSE] and [INORGANIC:BLANK_CORPSE_EMPTY] which represent the "mutilated" and "stripped" corpses.  I know that the corpses were removed with the one inclusion of souls, but the reaction still exists in the smelter for orcs.

Give a dwarf a fish, you feed him for a season.
Give a dwarf a Fishpond, couple of buckets, build a Fishery, and enable Fishfarming labor; you feed him for a lifetime. (And get someone to clean and prep the fish)

Something rather odd is happening to the frostskald I have in my fort. I think that every time he uses magic he either takes his clothes off, or they fly off. The clothes are still around the fort, but they get forbidden I think so he just takes off.

Hunting, as someone else pointed out, seems to be abit bugged?

I embarked with two hunters and some 30ish copper throwing tomahawks (ammo) yet with hunting on, they still do nothing. I double checked with "hunters" equipment on military screen, and amongst other ammo the throwing tomahawks are indeed listed there..

Are scalps supposed to be this valuable? I looked at a prepared dwarf scalp, and its value was something like a billion orcbucks.
