I just had an interesting happen stance. My miner went to join the Mason's guild, and instead her baby was inducted into their guild instead.
Well that could bring a few unwanted challenges... Unless there's a way to make babies unable to use the workshop somehow?

Thanks a lot, I didn't know I could make clothes out of mithril so this really helps
No problem I'm glad it could help, btw you make that armor in the Forge under metal clothing. Also you can't make welded mithrill clothes, I think?

So, I can't for the life of me figure out "spawn locations" for creating turrets/treants/summons/etc.

I see there is a liquid spawner workshop, but I can't find any references to a spawn location for creatures, and the manual doesn't really explain it.  It only makes mention that "spawn locations" can exist.

Ah, yeah I understood that part, it was the treant/orchids that were confusing me.  After looking, I see that their reaction was already removed and the seeds will be removed in the next version?

Guess I was looking for something that didn't exist anymore, thanks for the reply.

are migrant waves nerfed?

i have a 3 years old fort now, and got only 1 wave with 2 dwarfes. playing for 6 hours now and no other wave. i changed a full vein of ore to adamantine and crafted weapons and to boost my wealth(6million now), just to test migration, and still no migrants. my fort that died yesterday to hell-demons had at 5 million wealth about 130 dwarfes and the king.

i also did 40 "crafts" at the embassy for migration and still nothing. tons of food, no death people, hallways of gold.

is it just some kind of RNG?

@Spray - I had the same issue on my fort from 2g.  I too was only getting waves of 1-3 and then got 0 for about 2 years, but they started up again.  I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to the low dwarf population in the world.  I too tried to "encourage" more migrants by using the dfhack script to no avail.

Give a dwarf a fish, you feed him for a season.
Give a dwarf a Fishpond, couple of buckets, build a Fishery, and enable Fishfarming labor; you feed him for a lifetime. (And get someone to clean and prep the fish)

the world is filled with dwarf civs.

i am playing good biomes and there where dwarf civs everywhere on embark. and about 3-4 directly next to my embark.

A: It doesnt matter how many civs there are.
B: It doesnt matter if they show on the embark screen.
C: The only thing that matters is the population number of that ONE civ you are member of.

You can check it by exporting the world data or in legends mode.

I have a couple of xen infectors caught in cages. How do they infect stuff? Via blood? I was thinking of weaponizing them, maybe with spike traps extracting blood from them that is splattered on my victims.
