Should Scaleplate/Chitinplate/Shellplate reduced to "Scale/Chitin/Shell", and "Rigid X-plate" to "X-plate". It would shorten names a lot.

This will be the place to talk about the dwarf mode. Things that happened to you and your dwarves, but also the right place to suggest new features you wish to see, speak about balancing and exploits, whatever you like. All things dwarven come here.

Give a dwarf a Fishpond, couple of buckets, build a Fishery, and enable Fishfarming labor; you feed him for a lifetime. (And get someone to clean and prep the fish)

The are called lightweight greaves btw. I just cant imagine a leather leggings protecting anyone, I have to think of that Robin Hood spoof movie.

Would you consider making Dwarves Butcher Sapients ethic a toggle button?  Just a small thing but it's something that breaks immersion for me a little bit when playing the "good guys".  If the concern is clutter, I think the crematorium can already be used to burn bodies, right?

(Bonus: eat sapients forbidden encourages more worldgen wars with Elves ;) )

@Smake, yes the idea was clutter... but you are right, I did this long before all the other workshops to clean it up. That makes sense, and food production harder.

if you could just make their meat inedible that'd be nice too, this way you can still use bones/skulls(/skin) - there's still a difference between eating them and making profit off them
(or make them give no meat at all - though, iirc you tried that for KC ogres and it couldn't be done(?))

On the question of income from food trading.

Is it possible to have an option to mark all food as none-tradable (both purchase and sales) but still allow some to be purchased on embark.

In particular if all raw materials (meat/plants) and meals could be blocked, the processed plants (flour etc.) arn't so much of an issue.

So, i just had an idea for the expedition system. This can be applied to OrcFort as well.

Give a chance to the reaction to spawn a siege is gone badly, representing a counteratack against your forces. This can be done
with the FORCE scripct, just like the embassy.

@Broken: Yep, thats planned. But balancing is difficult... who would face a possible siege for a few trinkets?

@Drayath: Not that I know of. I can maybe influence the import of food, as in: Caravans bring no food (but that would be silly), but you also couldnt get it at embark then. Food is weird, with the low prices caravans sell it for, but the high prices your epic meals reach.

Hmm, though. What do you do to set something as none-tradable.

I wonder if i can use dfhack to set the same flag on prepared meals.

The entity has some entries, like those:
   [METAL_PREF] => trades metal s
   [STONE_PREF] => trades stones
   [OUTDOOR_WOOD] => trades wood
   [INDOOR_WOOD] => trades underground tree wood
   [INDOOR_FARMING] => trades underground plants

Well, I've read the changelog for the latest Masterwork, and I gotta say, this is the most excited I've been about Masterwork for while.

It looks really cool.  Can't wait to start playing with it tomorrow!
