yeah some versions ago it seems there were epic monsters. but it seems they were disabled, i remember a thread asking for their comeback some years ago.

but i dont know if its really a priority. it would be hilarious though...

So, since No Man's Sky is a pretty big disappointment. And my friend who spent 180 dollars on the game (he got PC version, PS version and gifted me a free copy) is already bored with the game like I am...

Has Hazeron gotten any better? I played it years ago when it was free, and I thought it was the most addicting game I ever played. The only downside at the time was how laggy it was...it was the laggiest best game I ever played.

Then it went pay to play, which I'm okay. But they made the universe really small if I recall, and I really liked going into the middle of nowhere and being left alone by all the big alliances. It was just me and two friends at the time, and we had a blast playing together. So I never tried it again after the universe got much smaller. My friend did, but supposedly when he tried it, it was a lot more crowded than when we all grouped up together and played it. I didn't see that personally, just what my friend said at the time. Maybe he appeared in a crowded area or something.

I'll totally sign up and play again if the universe is huge like it used to be. That be way worth the money than No Mans sky lol. At least I didn't pay for it, but sucks my friend spent so much on it.

I've been observing it on the forums since I decided a fair bit ago to reactivate my subscription when the new ship system got added. Then a month later Haxus apparently decided to work on creatures instead.

Apparently I've been doing this for around a year or so. I can see a post of mine saying something similar to what I'm saying now from September 1st 2015.

Recent large changes have been interesting, to say the least. There's the whole procreation and avatar stuff which is, as I said, interesting.

Lots of miscellaneous tweaks and fixes. There are biodomes now. There are a decent amount of large changes, but I really don't want to go searching through the forum posts and internet archive to find them.

Honestly, I'm not fond of where the game is headed. The community is just, well, almost annoying to me - there are two main community members who both act as minimods and the like. I would elaborate but that'd be even more rude. The new creature stuff looks absolutely horrifying to me. I'm not even sure if I will rejoin since there's a good chance of the syndicate deciding to take over the Galaxy again. Which was the original reason I quit.

But hey! Don't let my pessimism dissuade you. Just about all of it is personal stuff. I'm sure I'd have a fun time if I were to rejoin, but it's mainly the player count preventing me. As I'm writing this, there's a single player online. A single player.

EDIT: This is actually a later edit, but I would just like to restate that most of my complaints are simply because Hazeron is somewhat similar to my "dream game" that I don't see ever being made. So I feel strongly about Hazeron's design and direction even though I have no right to.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and there's a new wurm-style equipment/inventory menu that I really don't like.

EDIT: Underwater cities. While cool, I personally think these should have been given more work and thought beforehand - as of now it just seems like they were implemented quickly in a short time period because they were cool and forgotten about.

EDIT: There was also some kind of "quest" line added having to do with relics. This is especially frustrating to me because I personally advocated for this (in my opinion) supercool research system where you would recover ancient artifacts and apply them to your empire, and I also "advocated" for procedural generation. But Haxus apparently does not think alike and implemented a single quest line having to do with relics and the like.

EDIT: Indigenous people. Haven't seen much about this, but I believe it's like tribes. There's also a conversation mechanic where you can "talk" to your citizens in a fashion similar to MMOs and RPGs. As in like taking to the unnamed citizens who have a single pre made line. I think the aforementioned quest line may be linked to this. Speaking of which, there may be multiple quest lines. I'm not 100% sure.

EDIT: For some reason gravity in ships is now linked to life support instead of the gravity drive??

EDIT: There's a cool "gravel" effect where you see the little particles stream by when flying ships. And their density is based on local nebula density.

EDIT: City abandonment penalties were changed so now as long as a city has a sector capital and the sector capital has an empire capital, it'll be fine. And the empire capital abandonment is based on online statuses and any empire member being online will reset the capital abandonment timer. I think this is how it works now, at least.

EDIT: Some kind of land terraforming (like terrain height) now.

EDIT: Empire-wide announcements.

EDIT: You can make a bomb, that if supplied with large amounts of unique DNA samples, can be used to change the species of a planet. Also useful for genocide, apparently.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

There has been a lot of updates. Well, I know what I'll be trying next month after I get paid.

The only thing I see that is a problem is...as you pointed out, there is only one person playing. That is kinda dead. I remember a lot more people used to play. Even though I sorta played as a hermit with two friends, it was nice when there were others playing too. It be like playing a singleplayer game, unless I can get my friends to join again.

I'd actually maybe willing to start playing again if some others were at the same time were as well.
Maybe.
We all know how Bay12 empires/clans/groups turn out as.

yup lol. I was part of one in...haven and hearth (the 2nd most addicting game I played). And that kinda died out. I was gonna join an Ark one, but that died out before I got it. And that has been pretty much the experience I have with pretty much all the Bay12 groups. Even happened in Minecraft.

I'll be joining though tomorrow in any case (since I have enough money), I'm gonna activate my account for 15 days of access. Its actually pretty cheap (only 5 dollars, going to a fast food place is way more expensive than that). Not much to lose. If its as good/better than I remember (and the updates seem cool to me), it be far better money spent than on no man's sky :P

Hopefully I can get my friends to join though, otherwise I'll be playing like it like a No Man's Sky...singleplayer xD

Just wondering how dead the massive galaxy feels if there is 1-10 players only playing?
Would be fun to play again but the player count is just way too low for my taste i think :(
It is a really shame.
If the community is as kiddish and toxic it used to be, i wont be wasting any money on it.

I must say that IMO the change to P2P model was the biggest mistake. Player count dropped way too low and most of those that continued to play are... well, let's just say that IIRC, Syndicate (or whatever they're named now) requires EVERYONE to pay tribute or... die. It's not bad per se, I think it's great such freedom is allowed but there is simply noone to fight them since they basically have a monopoly on the game. There are also mentioned mini-mods and in general community is apparently horrible.
This is not the Hazeron I remember, where you could pop in and people would fly to you with their kitted out 32TL ship to drop tech and give you the ship to join the Galactic community faster, if you wanted of course. Or you could ask in Galactic chat for people to band up and there would be surely people that are willing to let you join their Empire or even join yours to build it from nothing, simply because more people = more fun.

Yeah I had that happen. Some dude gave me a hi-tech ship for free.

When I looked a bit ago 6 people were playing. But if its just a small toxic community, I'll be passing on it.

Syndicate gave up on the galactic conquest thing a while ago.  The game has too much tedious bullshit to really be worth playing right now in my opinion.  Trying to get minerals moved throughout the empire is a tedious pain in the ass, many things are in fact, a tedious pain in the ass, and the only two fully active community members are a couple of pissants who have Haxus' ear and use that position to block any changes that might improve the situation.

The community has been slowly dying for a long time and they are probably going to keep it that way.

I used to post idea threads until I started getting shut down by the two minimods every thread.
Really, when I have Haxus and what may as well be the entire community opposed against my ideas, I figured I may as well give up.

Definitely still want to play Hazeron again at some point. I'm just afraid that by that time it'll be completely dead or would have changed to the point where I really didn't like it anymore.

Let's make a new game.
Let's call it Coast of Norezah.
It will be totally different.
