Frigid worlds have enough wind power to launch a sailboat into orbit.

Personally I do think this is a project that should be (re-)built from scratch with a clear and concise set of goals, though. Sadly, I have no real experience with this kind of prgramming.

Top kek m8.

But for real, I don't think he did have experience with something of this scale before he started. It was kind of an experiment that people liked some of.

It's no wonder they liked it if that game allowed to recreate the landing scene from Starship Troopers with motorcycles.

It would be really fun if it was semi-multiplayer a la Terraria. Full-on multiplayer games are rarely fun if the antagonistic players are not being suppressed.

Hazeron is a hulking Frankenstein created mostly with dedication and a vision. The game started development in 1999, and is based off of (may even share some assets, I believe) Gravity Well 5, which goes all the way down to Gravity Well 1, a game very similar to asteroids.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

On the other end of the scale, it also gets boring if the entire game-universe is at peace, ruled by a giant super-alliance of the most powerful empires.

The thing that so many people don't understand about these kind of games is that you NEED the assholes and the peaceful people.  If it's just assholes no ones really doing anything besides wrecking everything and with just peaceful people you get no conflict.

All these hermits need to realize that you can JOIN the assholes "ruining" the game.  They'll ignore you AND you'll actually join the community.  You don't even need to do anything other than just be social.  Hell, you may even eventually join in doing something fun.

Assholes tend to scare people away pretty effectively, leaving it dead. They're also the kind of folks that tend to find game-breaking glitches and abuse them to hell and back while trying to keep them as secret as they can.

If you need assholes this badly, you can just regularly spawn Asshole Bots. They would be more controllable, less breaking-the-game and more friendly to people than actual assholes. They also wouldn't cause the game to fucking die.

If the games combat system wasn't so broken and exploity it would be fun to fight back and have epic space battles. Unfortunately, it is broken so pretty much what sergarr said.

Don't know if I'll play long term, but I'm enjoying it so far. Flying around exploring space and such. Have most of my home sector scouted.
