The Life and Times of Eko Satthaxim
« on: April 27, 2013, 09:15:29 pm »

Okay, this is definitely my best adventurer. So I'm playing the One Mod To Rule Them All (LotR) mod, and I was a dunadan swordsman and I had an army of 11 companions. I have been going around wiping out entire tribes of northmen, dunlandings, and the likes. I have only had one injury so far: my left lower arm was stabbed off by a northman on one of my early attacks. Nonetheless, I have continued rampage onto the tribes, trying to mop them up and get rid of their anarchistic ways. This is the only adventurer in which I've been in big battles, and oh my Armok is it fun. I even had one quest where I had to go and kill a dwarf necromancer just outside the village. And I approached on a plain, I see this huge, probably 30-40 elf army of zombies running at us from the hill. I shouted, my men warcried, and we charged them. We went 300 style on those elf zombies, and I personally hacked down at least ten of them. One of my hammermen reached the dwarf necromancer before I could, and I stood and watched as he pummeled the poor dwarf into a tiny pulp. I was having "fun" while winning in Dwarf Fortress *crazy*. I then proceeded far north to a dunland civilization capitol. I was given a quest to exterminate an overlord in the catacombs. They never told me how big his army was. After spending a good ten minutes exploring the catacombs, I entered a room to be greeted by about eight warcries. Stepping out to confront me was at least twenty northmen and dunlanders. My men and I fought valiantly, killing all of them in a glorious battle. The cost, however, was that I lost two of my great warriors. They died not in vain, however, for when the overlord seperated from his men, and I went to get him, we had a duel. We parried and dodged, until I landed a hit on his right hand. He dropped his shield, and I proceeded to stab him over and over until he died in a storm of vomit and blood. This just happened, just thought I'd share. ***FIRST FORUM POST***

Edit:

The fate of the world rests in my hands. My lady, it shall be done.

Edit: So I killed the troll and reported it, he was easy, and check out my new quest.

My first dragon quest, I am honored. A bit frightened, however, because of my lack of a shield arm to block fire. Hmm...

Edit:

No matter how or where, the death of a hero is a monstrous event. We were ambushed outside of the dragon's cave. There was probably about 12 goblins, half of them archers. There were also a few wolves, which ripped a few of my brave soldiers to shreds. When the combat was over, or so I thought, we had lost all but me and two other men. I planned to go back to the dunadan fortress so I could get more men to combat the dragon that would surely end our great civilization, when I saw one more goblin maceman running at us. He first came to the swordsman survivor of the two others, and bashed his head in until he was dead. He then continued to me, where he smashed my legs until I was on the ground, and hit my hand, taking away my sword. I knew that my chances of survival were all too slim, so I threw my dagger at him, hitting him in the upper body and causing him bad breathing, but that was my last act before he brought down his mace onto my head. Eko Satthaxim, you were an inspiration to us all. I saved the world before I left to kill the dragon, if anyone wants to try it themselves.

After killing off yet another dunland tribe I was stopped in travel because I "felt uneasy". When I got into the local screen, there were two bears right next to me and five wolves rushing towards us from the south. We suffered no casualties, and my iron plate armor got some use. And also, bear meat. Yumyumyumyum.

Are epic battles like that common in the LOTR mod? If so, I need to get me summa dat.

Also, please tell me your character is nicknamed Strider.

If Adventure mode creates such epic tales now, think what it will be in the next release.

It might be so, because the northmen make a lot of tribes. But here are my world settings:

Smaller World Size
Short History, stopped at Year 37
Very High Civs
High Sites
High Beasts
Very Low Natural Savagery
Frequent Mineral Occurence

Also, he shall be nicknamed Strider.

Now that he's gone, I shall look at Legends to learn more about this world, and my impact on it.
