....Well, I was thinking primarily naval use, but it's no problem to supply low-velocity shells to one mounted as a howitzer

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

kahn1234, i can do the double diesel for the heavies if that is the preference, but just like the smaller vehicles, it will take a larger engineering  effort and intoduce the risk of flaws if the roll goes poorly.

The original design did have 2x400Kw engines in mind. I was actually surprised when you put the 170Kw engines in.

the origi al design had the gas engines,  though i believe that one of the proposals to complete specified different engies. i dont recall off the top of my head if it was that proposal or a different one that actually resulted in completion.

on the airship bonus, there were enough critical faults in the completion roll to counter the early number of critical successes.

15, Design a pressure detonated anti tank mine, it should use a focussed directional explosive to destroy the tracks and underside of the vehicle passing over the top of it.

16, Design a small light rubber boat capable of holding 8 men, it should use a powerful diesel engine and be made as light and quiet as possible.
(( Something small and light build purely for stealth. ))

+1 vote for 1, 2, 3.2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

+1 vote for A, B, C, E, F, H, I, J, K, O.

We can use it as rescueboat too. Might be needed, I think.

Wow, those are many, many proposals. You'll find the votes at the end of the post if I'm not mistaken. Now, for my own proposals:

17) Drop the radar development (less flaws) and redevelop it with a high priority.
18) Design a rocket of the following qualities: ca. 120kg, ca. 40kg of explosives, and try reaching 8km range with the best possible accuracy. Make the warhead changeable between HE and incendiary. Something like 50% hit in a 100m radius circle, and 90% in a 200m radius circle? That should be reachable, as it is circa the accuracy of the nebelwerfer.
The radar is definitely needed,  and the rocket could be used both as artillery and from submarines for harbour bombardment.

Votes: 8, 9, 14
Always for a better aircraft engine. SMGs are needed for short-range fighting (see the first combat), and grenades too.

Votes: D, K, N, L

Also, it probably will become necessary to either adopt a tiered system (first all with max votes, then all with max votes - 1 and so on), or limit the votes. We currently have eleven accepted engineering projects.

Proposal bellow is a destroyer without inclusion of glareless sights (BTW, do we really need to design stuff that minor?)  and with more universal patrol destroyer:
And balloons... come on, just let them get accompanied by airships if scouting is that needed!
Plus I like Worker more than worker's (besides proposals like that are borderline cheating, IMO)

Anyway
Sub(counter)proposal 5.1
Design a fast "Worker" destroyer
Displacement: 2300 t
Armament:
Main: 1 forward 320mm turret with some nice armor (can't allow to lose main and only gun), fast turning and nice targeting
Secondary: two 80mm guns
AA: 8 hydra turrets, 2 twin older low velocity guns (they have higher rate of fire and thus better for low flying aircrafts and we may reuse design used for Alexi here), 2 twin HVS-40 turrets with aluminum antibullet armor (for higher flying aircrafts\small boats\merchants)
ASW: 2 hedgehogs, 10 HVS-14 machineguns, sonar
No mines, no torpedoes
Speed and operational range is preferred over armor, Goal is 60 Km\h.

Intended role:
1) Commerce raider. (We need one)
2) Fast reaction ship ( surfaced subs located? Let them prepare for shelling. Convoy under attack, fast reinforcements?)
3) Shore bombardment (if enemy has no coastal batteries, of cause)
It is designed to use it's single powerful gun and nice targeting for it's advantage and shell enemy ships from a distance they can't answer from (unprotected  merchants and the like can be attacked form close range, of cause) and run from ships with more serious guns and armor.
While it has some some limited self defense against subs it should avoid them and run away from their torpedo range using it's advantage in speed.
It has a nice set AA weapons, because speed will not help to avoid aircrafts

It has way less excess equipment comparing to RAM's one, doesn't try to take Popular Devotion's or Alexi's role and will be our answer for Morovia, it's our turn to hunt on small\unprotected ships
I repeat once more - wasting expensive 2300 tons ship on ASW role when we have working popular devotions design for that (and airships, and biplanes) is just a bad idea.
Convoy with 2-3 popular devotions and one Alexi is defended enough both from subs and AA atacks. We need to counterstrike. That ship will do just that

Design proposal 3.
Use knowledge gained from captured plans and raised wrecks and design our own submarine. Go completely another direction: no torpedoes, one 320mm  gun located inside the sub (except the tip of the gun, no standard reloading mechanism (to reduce weight) , instead one round can be inserted at docks. No rotating mechanism either. Aiming is possible only by turning the sub. Also has one 14mm machinegun for self-defense

Counter-proposal 3.1:
Use the knowledge gained from the plans and raised wrecks to design our own sub. Have it be built around a 320mm gun (preferably reload able, but the rest of it comes before this), with a single reload able torpedo launcher, and a single 40mm gun on the deck. Preferably well armored, and used in packs to wreck massive damage on naval installations.

Counter-Proposal 3.2:
Use the knowledge gleamed from the plans and wrecks to design a fast, stealthy raiding submarine. Two torpedo tubes with four reloads each. The sub is to be lightly armoured in order to maintain a high cruising speed. If possible, the design of the sub should be as similiar as possible to the Molovian design in order to confuse their SONAR operators.

Voting for proposals 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16. Tactical Proposals H, I and J are voted for as well.

Its not so much that the special ops are not willing to share their alternative weapons, its that there simply are not enough of them to equip all that many units with them. The standard issue is still the mosin nagant, even though 1 in 20 is lucky enough to have an SVA-10. The captured carbines are not in general circulation however, mostly due to the fact we have no supply chain for them.

Military forces are build around a power of 4.

Teams have 4 (+/-) soldiers
Squads have 4 (+/-) Teams
Platoons have 4 (+/-) Squads
Company's have 4 (+/-) Platoons
Battalions have 4 (+/-) Companies
Brigades have 4 (+/-) Battalions
Divisions have 4 (+/-) Brigades

Combined, your ground forces represent 4 divisions.

You have a little over 3 divisions worth of infantry.

An infantry squad typically consists of 3 riflemen teams with mosin nagants and 1 machine gun team with 1 Patriotism Mk1 or 2 Patriotism Mk2 and mosin nagants.

You have enough SVA-10's right now to fill about 1 brigade, or a bit less than 1 team per platoon, in about 3 years, it will be 1 team per squad.

You have enough Badgers/Hydra's for 2 companies of tanks.

You have enough Armored Cars for 2 companies of mechanized infantry.

But in practice, the armored cars and tanks would form companies with both towing 40mm guns and the gun crews riding in the armored cars. Each of these companies would be attached to an infantry division.

Your less mobile artillery composes about a battalions strength.

The next update is still planned for Saturday.

Oh I know, thats why I suggested upping production of other weapons to distribute them amongst all soldiers, no sense keeping all the good guns limited to such a small minority of men when our infantry would have an almost insurmountable advantage over our enemies if they had our better weapons.
