"Hmmm. The shape this ship is in, you'd have expected it to be completely destroyed, but it held together somehow... Let's call her the 'Endurance'."

"Yes. Endurance is a fine name for a ship."

Changing my vote to move things along.
"Hmm... On second thought, why not Endurance. "

A ship that's still intact after all the shit that this'n's been through? Endurance suits her.

The cargo bay one ramp whirs and eases open, and the men begin loading the supplies you purchased in the previous weeks. M-1 Dev. 1 oversees a pair of menials as they carefully tow the interceptor over the makeshift catapult installed in the bay, unhooking it from the trolley and cutting the power to the antigravity units set into the underbelly, dropping it onto the rails before heading back to help move the other supplies.

OREOSOME
You head through the cargo bay and past engineering, climbing a short ladder to reach the bridge. Its in fairly good shape compared to the rest of the ship, and you are pleasantly surprised when, upon activating the computing systems, you find them to be quite advanced and already in working order, though they could stand a bit of optimising. It shouldn't take long, you figure, and you move away from the terminals sprouting up from the floor and check out the pilot cradle. Apparently you only have so much luck today. This is one of the early models, the kind that hook directly into your nervous system using a series of massive needles that slip between the protective vertebrae and into the spine. Even if you did have the implants required to use it, this model had to be specially built to fit the pilot's size, and its previous owner was a rather small man. You'll have to have it replaced, and in the meantime you'll be forced to use the manual controls.

In the meantime your two deck officers have arrived and have already taken their places at their respective consoles. Weiss, the comms officer, swivels in his chair and offers you a crisp salute. I've just contacted Atropos Flight Control. We're cleared for takeoff at any time.

kj225
You push past the menials as they go about their tasks, stacking crates, loading ammunition and moving fuel. You arrive in Engineering and immediately head for the engine room. You open the hatch and step inside, revealing a massive dual cored fusion reactor. After a quick once-over you find that the reactor is heavily modified. Its power output is massive and the efficiency is incredible, but you theorise it could be quite unstable should it sustain much damage.

Doomblade187
You seize a handhold and pull yourself up along the outside of the ship to the top deck. You look around at the killing floor, the so-called Loading area. You spot the weapons locker set into the ground near the personnel lifts and a grin spreads across your face. You walk over to it and palm the lock pad. It hisses open, revealing an impressive, though slightly outdated array of personal weaponry. You heft an unloaded assault rifle, admiring it.

Zanzetkuken The Great
You wander past the menials moving supplies and into the second cargo bay. You spot a small 8mx8m personnel lift in the corner of the cavernous bay, palming the control pad and rising up to the Loading deck. You find Thermin examining a shiny new assault rifle, a light laser you're pretty sure, and you nod with approval.

Brood
You walk into the cargo bay and sit down on a crate, watching the menials go about their work with marked disinterest.

Flying Dice
You head over to Engineering and check out the Medical Suite. Its barren, with only a few token boxes of antibiotics resting in the middle of the floor, and otherwise the room is entirely stripped. There aren't even any cabinets or shelves to put anything in, and you frown at the scene before you. Captain Valten will not be pleased, to be sure.

Maldevious
You watch the menials carefully as they set the interceptor down, then nod with approval they secure it carefully to the rails. They walk away and you move over to the second cargo bay and into the Weapons Hub. You activate the console and perform a systems check. Not too good. Almost half the weapon mounts are entirely destroyed and need to be replaced, and many others need to be repaired. The engineers should be able to take care of that, with the use of some supplies.

Noodlerex
You walk around the ship, checking the hull a bit more thoroughly. You spot a few dents and scrapes on the starboard side that require your attention, though they're mild enough to wait until The Endurance is underway.

Try repairing as many minor dents in the hull as I can before take off.

You'd have to erect a scaffold to reach any of them, and you don't have the manpower or equipment to move and place the plates in gravity. You'd be able to do the same job with two men and in half the time and effort if you wait until you've left Atropos.

In that case:
Sneak around and see if I can "acquire" some more medical supplies.

Sneak around and see if I can "acquire" some more medical supplies.
You look around the small corporate hangar where your ship resides and find it empty except for The Endurance, several large stacks of empty pallets and the carts and cargo trucks you used to get the men and supplies here. Just outside the doors is a long runway surrounded by a flat expanse of desert that leads to the mass driver, used to launch ships that cannot achieve escape velocity under their own power into orbit. Most military ships are entirely capable of this by virtue of necessity and government financing, and the only navy ships that ever actually use these drivers are capital ships and super carriers, which are constructed on the ground and then launched up to the orbital dry docks for final assembly.

You see no where that you could feasibly acquire medical supplies and head back into the hangar.

Wander around checking safety lines and look for any smuggling compartments that may have weapons or supplies in them from previous owners.

Head to the engine room and begin as thorough an inspection of the drive and reactor as is possible from within the ship.
