Still in development. And one involving the fans deeply. The latest race (the Automatons) was fan-made. And their ships design was also decided by fans. Fans proposed designs and fans voted for their favourite design. Now devs are making them a reality.
They are going to implement yet another faction, and fighters/bombers. Ship design and even functionalities are being submitted to the fans for vote.
So different kinds of lava planets may not be impossible :P
That said, I'm off to the game.

EDIT: Progress!

That is good. While I have nothing wrong with a lava planet being edenistic... it just kind of felt weird how random it was most of the time, especially when it would probably interact with the planets in different ways.

I repeat: time to invade quickly before the Pilgrim's influence radius expands. You'll get cool resources and cripple your only AI neighbour (at least until a bunch of research happens).  :)

Alternately, be a pacifist and expand away from your opponent. But where's the fun in pacifism?  ;)

Okay, I have now basic missiles, but I need Titanium-70 to make them. So I need to colonize a planet with titanium 70. I have a colonizer ship nearly ready. I have two possible destinations: the tundra planet or the Wonder desert planet. (the tundra colonization tech is nearly ready).

You require more Titanium.

Your choice: the cold Deki in four turns or the hot Regulus in three to four turns?

And a little overview of the Horatio Empire.

Looking good! I vote for the offensive path. They are not Horatio, and must be beautified. With missilies. Colonize that tundra, mine that titanium, and paint the sky red.

Fixed because it would be a tragedy not to give the most beautiful name in the universe to a color. Seconded because I prefer tundras to arids, and the foes are too close to bother waiting for lasers.

Along similar lines (self-inflicted poverty), I vote dropping the taxation slider down so there's more traditional production and research.

War is coming! This update is the last before glorious Horatio-made missiles start ripping apart the ugly tattooed pilgrims.
In this episode, we meet two new species, claim another world for the Horatio, and build the most powerful armada in the entire Galaxy.
Let's begin!

Wow... Pilgrims, Amoeba, and Sophons. You probably could've played the entire game without a serious military - I don't think any of those factions would build a fleet, never mind declare war.

Oh well. Since they're all afraid of combat, we may take up arms to conquer beautify them all! Our lack of technology will soon be compensated by the sheer number of Horatios, stretching far across the constellation!

Constellations deserve beautiful names as well. Posting to watch, 'cause I really enjoyed Endless Space my first go at it.

That's not entirely true. My last game I played sophons, against sophons, pilgrims and amoebas... After a hundred turns of colonization, research and buildup, I spent most of my time at war. Wars THEY declared. True, Sophons and Amoebas went down with little to no fight, but the pilgrims threw like 20+ fleets at me, and no small ones.

Steam, 30$ (well, 30€ but selling platforms tend to screw us over anyway)
