 The slippers are intended to induce wrinkling. So.. Kick a shin=wrinkled shin, kick a curtain=wrinkled curtain, kick a granite slab=wrinkled granite slab. Mostly aesthetic as it just causes a surface form alteration, but it could really mess up a pair of scissors, stop a knife from cutting cleanly, or spoil the appearance of someone's face... Also, they are kind of cursed, in that there is no specific way of removing them, and shattering glass that is wrapped around your foot is ill-advised, although wearing them again will fix most of the damage caused by removing them... They also stop your feet getting sore or sores, which is handy for long walks if you tend to get sore feet...
