Tourette's Syndrome, here. I can control my tics fairly well- I can keep them under control for a time, but not for especially extended amounts of time (I can only keep them subdued for that) and after that, I just tic away, or if I'm stressed/excited
I get both motor and verbal tics- including shrieking sounds, quieter whuh-ing sounds and hitting myself (although that's calmed down, it still happens if I'm stressed/especially excited. I only really feel it if I punch myself in the balls, or thump my bicep against my head, both of which hurt if I end up doing it hard enough), or just kind of twitching.
I also run around when my imagination works up although I am unsure if that is Tourette's or simply my imagination being OVERHYPERACTIVELEVEEEELS.

No, no I am not :P the reason I don't really feel it probably has to do with the fact that there are only four visible muscles on my body.

You should lift weights and use it as an excuse to wear armor-plated underwear.

What really used to make me wonder was that, why is clinical depression getting so rampant in modern society especially in developed countries including the West?..

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a bit of Labeling Theory in there too.

Labeling theory? so they have a name for it now, This thing has kept popping up if you look at the previous posters..
They do take it tooo far with the labeling sometimes, especially in psychology.

I will bite I voted in the poll but was a bit scared to post, but I stuffer from the very worst kind of depression and have been in emergency care a few times.. Not fun also a bad OCD for being clean and rather bad anxiety. I keep meaning to go to the doctors and really talk to someone But it just feels like they are judging you when you go to talk to them.

Sympathize with you. I guess everyone gets that feeling when they are going through it and it really sucks.

I was nervous to even click reply as I am a very anti-social person, and I don't like talking about myself. While these are self diagnosed, I have anxiety, clinical depression, dyslexia, and slight OCD(Symmetry!)

I don't like sharing information about myself, but after seeing other people's responses... I feel more willing to share about myself... All I can say is that this community has helped my depression get... better; I have gotten happier since I started playing Dwarf Fortress and talking with this community. I used to put on a fake veil of happiness and joke around... but it was fake, I kept my sadness under the covers to avoid being forced to talk about it, as my parents assume my anxiety and depression come from bullying from school, but really, I am just a nervous person(Trust me I am trying to get less nervous.) My OCD? Really its just a thing I assume as I focus on Aesthetics more than function IRL and in DF(I think aesthetics are noticed more then other things)

If that sounds like a sob story to get empathy, I apologize, the way I talk/type makes things like that sound like I'm trying to get empathy.

I'm a nervous wreck too, I seem to have exactly half of what you have. Anxiety can really be terrible at times. I find keeping myself preoccupied useful (music, exercise or even DF?)

One thing I learned is, fighting anxiety only makes it worse. Its just the way we are, and we have to embrace that fact. That itself will help us manage it better (Also professional help, medications etc may be needed for some). Society can be extremely judgmental (sometimes even people on the net are, ignore them they are a few), when people are different but that's something one has to get used to. I am pretty much like that too, but I found the internet EXTREMELY helpful, regarding information about all this and even by reading what people say on various forums. Talking in this community (or any other, there are some specially devoted to things like this, google it) will be extremely beneficial to you, since here, you know that no one is going to judge you and you can express yourself.

It's not. You don't have to apologise. Know this, no one is judging you that way and here, you can be free of such thoughts. Your very welcome here, friend.

I am sorry for my wording. I don't like talking to people in person, its been a problem with me for a while. Yes humanity would be lost, and I understand the emphasis on Self diagnosed.

I hope that has cleared up any misunderstandings on my post.

Thank you. I have tried to describe how I feel, but I have no words on how to say it.

Technically that didn't invalidate my original point, but I feel like I've harassed you enough for now.

Not in response to the current conversation, but inspired by it:
Instead of self-diagnosis, just keep track of what you have problems with.
