Thanks for the input, fellows. My time got a bit wonky, my pony mislabeled some dates, by about a month. I blame it on mine and his exhaustion. Him from mining and me from other IRL things. I'm dreading the big after caravan immigrate wave, I hare immigrates some times. I will state my mistake on time in the journals. Is everypony liking BastionRises so far?

I can't remember the birth time between married ponies... I need to though. And to Iceblaster, when I retire as Overpony, watch Zioko, and train him in the military, whatever branch you see fit with his destruction magic. He has VERY high mental stats, and really good physical. Best pony ever. And he is blue. He is almost just like my OC, a light blue unicorn with a shorter face, very smart and charismatic, though my OC works in science...
Anyways, anyone know the birth time? Would work great for Zioko's wife to have a foal right before my turn ends, good reason for him to retire from leadership.
So many thieves have been getting hacked apart by Clarity and her subordinate, or just chased off map. I need to train some gunner ponies, and to get more drink...

Yaay! I'm killing things!  :P

It seems that my pony is turning out to be a bona-fide chainsaw murderer. That will be fun to roleplay.

Some frickin hunters wouldn't stop huntin' 'til I drafted them into a squad. There are 3 gunners now, and Iceblaster, it would be smart to make them each leaders of their own squads, then give each squad guns. We have like 6 combat rifles and 2 pistols, maybe 8 BB guns.

My Stables have a nasty tendency to stall out above ~80 population- not from processing problems, but from my micromanaging overseer style. Hopefully, if this one gets big before my turn, I'll still be able to manage.

On regular DF, I would line up useless immigrants and smash them with a drawbridge. Wish I could do that on here, but for RP reasons I won't. My turn will be over at the end of summer.

Sorry for not updating much, IRL stuff got in the way.
I need to figure out some jobs for all these useless immigrants here. I hate getting a large fort sometimes.

Which is why I set my population max in the inti file to 20.  I can end up between 20 and 40 something population before immigrants stop coming, depending on what I do or do not trade that first year.  This gives me a large enough breeding pool.

40 Population isn't big enough to have a effective military / workforce unless you get legendaries.

Embark with 2 ponies with 5 skill levels in student and teacher.  Assign them whatever weaponry they want after drafting them into the military.  Set their schedule to train two to three months in a row, with a month off.  By the end of a year, you'll have them at legendary or close to in most fighting skills.  Use these two as drill instructors for future squads.

Besides which..who needs a large workforce when you've got a limited population, anyway?  And I've run Stables for close to ten years without any sort of military and relied on traps/security turrets/war pets or waiting out a siege underground.  By that time, with rehabilitating selective slaves and having my first-born Stable generation grown into adults, I'm looking at a population of roughly 60 to 80 ponies.

If its alright with you, could I lock of the Stable from the aboveground area for my year to focus on getting to the magma sea?

If you wish, you'll get wood and scrap from the caverns. But the magma sea still has dangers, so be careful, when you do get to.
You may want to make a glass roof in part of the top-layer of the Stable and designate the area as a meeting room so they don't become inclined to caves, don't want soldiers vomiting in the sun while a Steel Ranger shoots the **** our of 'em.

I hate all these migrants -.- still got the wastelander caravan coming, so more immigrants inbound, and during the summer. My turn will end in the end of summer, being 1.5 years.

Ha! What I thought may happen did! 3 months before the end of my turn, my pony's wife, Dignity, has a child! Good for RP reasons, and the unicorn male baby, Kaped, being the first child born in BastionRises!

By Luna's fiery ovaries, you have the best timing for RP purposes :)
