What kind of embark will you be picking?

And, does draining water off the edge of the map using fortifications carved in the map edge considered an exploit?

Not if the water is removed for a appropriate reason. I just say no exploits so people won't find glitches to mess with the game.

What about the embark site? The more dangerous Wilderness or the somehow safer but more valuable Savage areas?

I'm going and try and pick as I always do, A well balanced wilderness embark with ponies using multiple skills for maximum efficiency. I wish I could use the embark I just did, it is the best one I have ever chosen. A 5x5 map, mostly flat except for a small section in the bottom left corner. A brook runs from the northwest corner to the south east, almost perfectly cutting it in half. Plenty of trees and plants, and the caverns full of ghouls and military robots. Medium salvage, plenty of radigators, carp, geckos and bloatflies. Had a mixed team, but now within 7 In game months I have a good area, had to throw a wall up around my wagon to keep out the flies and Gators, then ordered my two miners to dig stairs and a large stockpile. Full of violence and coolness.

Awesome, can't wait to see the map on my turn. By the way, are we using DFFD? If not, I will still use it as it seems to be the easiest way to upload files relating to DF

Yeah. No point in using anything else. How would I go about using the same embark? Re gen the same world and remember the location? Or what? I don't mess with world gen when I mod, too complicated.

From expirience, the 'Equestria' world gen option generates with random seeds meaning that-unless you use the same seed-you will never get the same world twice. Sooo, just find something you find interesting, maybe half savage half normal, and start the forting!

Mmmmk. I'm thinking flat, wilderness / savage, no aquifer, etc.

How long of a play you want? It can be from 1 year to 2.5, I'm giving those who obviously have experience a choice. I will post my probable embark area and supplies, and just tell me if you find something you would like changed. I use the antique items thing ONLY if it happens to appear, and even then most of it isn't used.

I'll play for a year like everyone else. I really don't want to be treated better because I have more experience.

I would suggest bringing a log or two of High Salvage to get an initial tech boost, but other than that, I have no objections for supplies as I am used to just adding and taking a few things off of the initial embark supplies

I was thinking of changing play time to 1.5 years, might make a poll or just ask around. I normally don't take salvage, I buy plenty of logs and things for gunpowder. I also have never let a pony eat meat. I feel that eating meat for ponies is a last resort sort of thing, only to happen if you are starving to death, or have grown to feel that eating it is acceptable. I will let any Overpony choose these sorts of things, but I will only kill animals if they are hostile or annoying.

Well, if you feel like changing the playtime, go ahead. Also, I think we should start with the fort even with two people. If you don't feel like it, I am fine with this, but it would be better to start the fort now so we can get people into it by showing the doom !FUN! of the fort

Yeah, I see where you are coming from. I will post the embark things tonight, and I am changing the turn time to 1.5 years, as 1 year is sometimes too short.
