Alec glances around at the others, then rests his gaze on the middle aged man.

"Well, for one, what's the end goal here, anyways? We trying to sneak an old artifact or somesuch out of there?
...or are we trying to drive out the bears somehow?"

((Sorry for the wait, I was delayed by blight agents.))

"Where's th' booze?"
Baldwyn asks in a drunken tone.
He stares at the man while scratching his own beard.
The box rattles vaguely in reply.

Alec glances around at the others, then rests his gaze on the middle aged man.

"Well, for one, what's the end goal here, anyways? We trying to sneak an old artifact or somesuch out of there?
...or are we trying to drive out the bears somehow?"

The one eyed man points pointedly at you. "Good question. A highly trained diviner at the Academy of the Arcane Arts has uh... divined that the king might actually return from his 'day off' for the Shipwreck Feast. Because of this, the Cook and Chef Coalition have commissioned us to bring in as many barrels of root bear sap as we can get out hands on."

He brushes his hands on his pants, as if to say he's finished, before realization dawns on his face.

"Oh fek! I almost forgot one really important detail. Don't burn them. They're no good to us if they're toasted."

And so Group A sets off around the ruined castle wall, the suit of armour picks up the box and wears it like a large, awkward backpack and the stout man ushers Group B down a cramped, dirty hole that was previously covered by some kind of green, mottled tablecloth. As you disappear down the hole, the stout man, the tall armour and the crazy box begin to walk towards the ruin's main gate.

You soon reach the end of the tunnel and find yourselves in the dark, cramped catacombs. It appears to have been constructed in the style popular with the lords and kings of the last century: grey stone, elaborate engravings and too few light fittings. The major difference here is the small roots wrapped around the silent memorials and ruining the masonry.

Examine the memorials for anything noteworthy.

Find some sort of weapon, this is a grave to kings after all.

Try to pull f one of the roots, and then try to determine what kind of tree it was from.

Try to make some kind of crude torch out of one of the roots.

Examine self, and try to find or create a source of light.

Rynn followed in silence; naught but the movement of armor shadowing the way along with the four others. An oddity in these parts - getting 'drugged' while still in your armor and now being introduced nonchalantly to this type of...quest, they called it?

This was surely a bad dream. None of the rest complained. At all. There must at least be something around to be useful, given the dark and dank case of the moment.

Examine the memorials for anything noteworthy.
(3) Your cursory search of the memorials doesn't reveal anything immediately useful. However, one of the two statues in the room appears to be holding a rusty zweilander (S+2, T-1, fragile*) in its cold, brittle hands. Somebody might be able to pull it out.

Find some sort of weapon, this is a grave to kings after all.
(4) The statue opposite the rusty zweilander statue is a much worse for wear and sitting next to it is a stone arm (S+1, T-1).

Examine self, and try to find or create a source of light.
(3) There are dried roots on the broken statue but as you prepare to bring light to the darkness you realize that you don't have a tinderbox with you.

Try to pull off one of the roots, and then try to determine what kind of tree it was from.
(1) As soon as you touch the roots they wrap around your arm. You hear skittering coming from the nearby corridor followed by the squeal of bending wood.

Try to make some kind of crude torch out of one of the roots.
(1) You grab the root grappling Thomas and say "Calm down, wizard. I'm an expert." Then you write 'FIRE' on the dusty wall.

Fear is, evidently, the mind killer.

*New Quality: Fragile - whenever it is used you roll a d6. On a fail, the bonuses and penalties are halved (rounded down).

"Sounds that way."

Grab something semi-weapon-like and hide near the corridor's entrance, prepared to attack whatever the noises' source is as it enters.
