First questions, then turn hopefully today, but no promises. Pretty rough day and still a good bit of work to do.

I am confused with my microsmg thing, so I can produce my FN-SM right now and spend additional 500cr to get body for the next project?

Or spend 500cr and try to convert FN-SM to smaller version of itself?

Or spend 500cr and get two protypes?

Continue testing of the weapon, try to make it even cheaper without hurting it's performance

Spend 1000c to design Micro SMG automatic body  and Fold-Over Stock

Adverstiment
FN-SM is our attempt to provide a reliable small arm for paratroopers, while it can't be used as only weapon it's a nice sidearm that can be used when main gain is unavailable for some reason. Also it is very handy for close quarter fighting.  But main use of the weapon is to be used different branches of our army. Vehicle and artillery crews, sailors  as they can't carry unwieldy large guns with them.  Low cost of the weapon will make it possible to arm majority of our auxiliary forces with it using a small portion of our military budget

I have to admit, despite the fact that you made this in part because I wasn't accepting enough people into my game, I'm considering joining this. :P

One question though: What type of ammo to under-barrel launchers use? Is it shells? Do shotguns typically use small shells for basic shells?

Shells are for shotguns, you'd need to develop grenade launchers and use their shells. I'm about to overhaul launchers, but I'm currently drowning in a sea of rage and in no state to attempt update. The questions are all fine, but again, the system I used here wasn't as fleshed out as I'd like it to be. I might be changing the scope of this to include actual stats, so be ready for that if it happens. Think of yourselves as alpha testers.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

From the sounds of things, no, but questions suggestions:
Can we create side-projects for cash? Don't see much use in having access to revolver technology- any military contract coming along isn't going to be interested in that. Police are phasing it out as well, (if not already have).

Looking at cheesecake's hyper-expensive research, I propose research isn't made available to other players until it is incorporated into a contract-winning design? I don't see cheesecake producing his own design this turn, and if it becomes fairgame next turn..
  -Perhaps our stockpiled research could be used to lure in contracts or something of that nature?

Also: continuous contracts, paying out a certain amount every phase 1- would open up contract-stealing, and dovetail nicely with developing non-contracted weapons.

If you'd prefer I not make suggestions, just let me know and I'll hushup.

personally i feel that research really lacks incentive for the researcher.
i mean you pay a heap of cash to research and prototype your brand new x-ray vision scope then the very next turn everyone gets your tech for free and all of a sudden you're down half your cash and have no advantage to show for it.

We haven't been through a full cycle- the payout for landing a contract might be huge, more than making up for the cost of research.

true,  but that only applies to the contract winner.
If 2 people compete with researched items for the same contract only one of them will win and everyone else will get all of the researched technology leaving the loser out in the cold with half his initial funding and no advantage whatsoever.

take myself and a1s for example, we have both spent a large portion of our funding on research and have both chosen to apply for the DMR contract, one of us is going to get rich and the other is going back to square one with half the money they started with.

My guess is we get a small stipend each turn, or are eliminated in very short order. Tsuchi said he was still refining the mechanics.
