It is a mercy he did not have to go on in this show. I don't understand though why his own men just betrayed him, a bit confusing but eh, it's just one more inconsistency on the list. He was already dead when he sent Sansa to the Edgefort for no reason

My only fear at this point is that Martin will die and leave us with this fucking show as the only complete Game of Thrones story. Hopefully the next book will be out before the last season starts.

My completely unfounded conspiracy theory is that the books are done, finished, ready for print. But he's making so much more money off show royalties that he wouldn't dare put out his books just yet and contradict what the show is doing. I expect we'll see them released a reasonable amount of time after the final season airs and it starts to cool down. Although they are planning spinoffs... so who knows.

Why attribute to conspiracy what can easily be explained by sloth? He probably realizes he's written himself into a huge amount of work and has a hard time getting himself to tackle it all. Since he's not exactly hurting for money he doesn't have a huge incentive to work on the books instead of doing other stuff that is much easier.

Well, Yohn "Bronzyboiii" Royce, who's commanding the Vale knights, never was on his side to begin with. Two or three seasons ago, before they leave the Vale Littlefinger have to basically threaten him with death to keep him in line. He was also a close friend of Ned's and the Stark family and basically the last person Littlefinger should've brought with him if he wanted to control the Vale army himself in de facto rather than just on paper.

Further this is a bit of a redemption to the Bronze as a character, given that in the books he is, according to what I've heard, the biggest opponent Littlefinger has in the Vale, and is resisting his ladder-climbing to power every step of the way, and in the show he was basically delegated to an opinionless background face after the death threat mentioned above.

The Bronze is one of my favourite characters in the entire mythos, exceeded only by Every Single Fucking Mormont, so I tend to sponge things up about him.

Fun fact: The arrogant Night's Watch commander in the opening scene of season one is the Bronze's third and youngest son.

The blue guys are White Walkers (not undead by the way,)  the dead guys are wights. So sayeth the wise lord A Wiki of Ice and Fire.

The evil commander guys are the ice demons, the white walkers. Like A Thing said, they're not really undead as per GRRM's own words. He's also said they aren't human, but the show White Walkers seem to populate by turning humans into White Walkers in an imitation of how the Children of the Forest created the first White Walker by corrupting a captured human.

The undead soldiers, the wights, are created when ice/winter creeps into their bodies after death. The blue glow is an effect of them being enthralled, somehow. In the books (can't remember about the show) even wights without eyes still have a blue light in their eye holes.

Unless you mean something else with Touched?
