What are the argument for R+J=L?

It's R+L=J.

The R+L part is ridiculously obvious. Half the time Rhaegar is mentioned in the books it's to remind you that he had a thing for Lyanna.

The J part is more speculative, but seems pretty solid. We know from one of Ned's fever dreams that he went down to Dhorne to find Lyanna where she was guarded by Kingsguard. Ned defeated the Kingsguard with difficulty and found Lyanna dying on a "bed of blood", where she made him make a promise to her before she died.

The thing is, the Kingsguard were way down in Dhorne guarding Rhaegar's lover while the king they were sworn to protect is fighting a war. The most popular opinion is that they were protecting Rhaegar's child because it was royal blood, and Lyanna made Ned promise to take care of her child.

Then, after the war, Ned returns to Winterfell with a child: Jon.

Clearly, Jaqen H'ghar--wearing a female form--got jiggy with Roose Bolton, travelled to Winterfell, assumed the form of the dead mama direwolf, and gave birth to a litter of cuddly little Boltonwolves for the Stark kids to find; thus, Roose + Jaqen = Lady!

This was all part of Jaqen's cunning plan to assassinate the king through clever manipulation of probabilities; after being driven off on the journey south, Arya's direwolf became the leader of a ginormous pack of wolves in and around the Trident, which eventually killed or drove off most of the deer of the Kingswood, forcing Robert to instead go hunting for the boar that killed him. Jaqen himself managed to reach King's Landing disguised as Ned Stark's fur cloak, the better to keep an eye on things; this soon backfired, however, when Ned left him in a locked wardrobe one particularly hot day, and while he managed to escape, he was forced to abandon his disguise. He was able to stick around for a while (disguised as Syrio, of course), but eventually he was captured (by Meryn F***ing Trant) and thrown into the black cells.

Also, at some point he was Benjen and/or Daario. Valar Naharis. It is known.

I am forty-six minutes and forty-two seconds into the seventh episode of season four and OH GODS NO DON'T OH NO. D:
I do not like where this is going.

Three-minute-later-edit: BAHAHAHAAAA. Okay I saw that coming as soon as [X] entered the scene.
I shouldn't be laughing out loud at 6AM! Episode seven was officially awesome. I'm hard-pressed to pick my favourite part, but that ending... oh man, great stuff, great stuff. Incredibly satisfying, that was.

Okay, couldn't sleep so I watched Episode Eight as well. Wow.

Spoiler: Thoughts. (click to show/hide)

Firstly: Arya's laugh is insanely infectious. Probably my favourite part of the episode.
The smile slowly sliding off Sandor's face, followed by Arya bursting out laughing... brilliant. I laughed aloud as well.
I'll probably be watching this episode again.

Secondly: I definitely don't hate Sansa any more, and Baelish is rapidly becoming one of my favourite characters- even if his voice/accent/speech impediment annoys me. 

Thirdly: Aaaaauuuuuuughhhhhh. Well. Oberyn deserved that for the whole 'prolonging a deadly fight with a speech' thing. Still doesn't make me any less disappointed about his opponent winning.

Anyway I'm going to try again to sleep, since I'm rambling.

Seriously, Giants using bows, and wearing what look like clothing? They're supposed to be giant ape, not giant men. I guess it'll totally mess Wun Wun.

Also, why is everyone milling around in the courtyard waiting for the widlings to pass the gate rather than I don't know, fight them? And the cook? What the fuck.

Just went back an read the synopsis of Book 3 (which is as far as I've read in the books).

Man...I've forgotten a lot of what happened in that book compared to what is going on in the show.
