I never really thought of Littlefinger's character as Suave. I mean, the way every character interacts with him it seems they find him kinda creepy and disgusting, just necessarily at that moment. Unlike the walking ball of charisma and sex appeal that is Robert Downey Jr...I mean Tony Stark. Yes, that's what I meant *shifty eyes*

It's mostly the same in the books, although everyone has a tendency to completely disregard him even when he's obviously plotting to kill them. He even laughs in their faces about it.

Who ever disregards him? They all with exception to the Lannisters try to do their best to get him on their side and curry his favour. Lannisters kinda shot themselves in the foot there.

Also I wonder if Peter's obsession with Catelyn waifuism has something to do with that being his only life's failure. With hindsight looking at the scene where Peter/Petyr cosies up to Catelyn after giving her the remains of her husband in a box even funnier. He doesn't seem to care about human suffering which I guess is keeping in character. Maybe he should have gone the Timberlake approach and brought his dick in a box, preferably not the Theon variety. That still would have been more sensitive.
