I'm really glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was really strange that Daenarys saw a bunch of cave carvings and immediately believed Jon.

My takeaway from that battle is that Daenarys is incapable of even the most basic tactics. If you're going to burn everything with your dragons anyway why not just send horse-archers to distract the Lannisters?

I really wish Bron was as marketable as Dany because him sniping her and her dragon would've been amazing: Bron the Dragonslayer and Tyrion the Imp conquer Westeros.

Well, they don't need ballistas to kill dany, given that she goes to war in her everyday clothes they just need a lucky archer to hit a chink in the plot armor.
As for the ballistas, well, moving a ton of the stuff would be hard for an army on the move, and I guess they want to allocate most of the one they produce to the defence of King's Landing. Ofc,
 they kinda blew their surprise right now to little effect.
Also, do you think that Jaime refrained on purpose to send patrols/outrides to screen his force, knowing full well that armies just teleport in place anyway so why bother?

There is literally no reason not to mass produce dragon-killing ballista

This is like facing an enemy with nuclear weapons, in the plural, and you refuse to make more than one counter ballistic missile, it's a poor life choice and not one that anyone would reasonably make. Cersei isn't stupid, she knows 100 is a bigger number than 1, though I suppose the showwriters wouldn't let the Lannisters turn the dragons into porcupines

As to why Jaime didn't sent patrols, I'm pretty certain Jaime was leading the rearguard of his convoy, I'm guessing the patrols already happened to determine the road ahead was clear (because all the gold sections of the convoys have already made it to King's Landing, and Lord Tarly did remark that their column was spread too thin and too far, so one can surmise that the rest of the column is 1-2 days ahead of Jaime's position). Assuming those Dothraki assaulted Casterly Rock and with Danaerys having what is effectively slow aeroplane travel allowing her to travel around the world faster than any other character (who isn't teleporting), it would be plausible for her to head there and launch an attack. How she saw them without them seeing her is another issue, but that's the most reasonable account I can imagine of the show's battle

As an aside, I think it's possible Danaerys just brought the entire Dothraki race to endangered status? She brought 100% of all the Khalasars to Westeros, destroyed the entire Khal and Dosh Khaleen aristocracy, and of all the Dothraki that survived the transport across the vast sea - how many survived the second battle of blackwater bay or second battle of lannisport?

And of those survivors, how many thousands do we see attacking the Lannister convoy? Thousands - when Danaerys brought over 100,000. What happened to the rest of the 100k? And of those, how many will survive her campaign, then survive winter - a season they have never seen before, in a land that is hostile to them? And if any of them survive, how many will return home to continue their pillaging - how many instead will assimilate into the Westerosi feudal system?

Well, given that they're barbarians that only survive through preying and murdering other people, good riddance. Maybe it was all a cunning plan by Dany to get the world rid of the people her brother sold her to and that treated her so badly.

I mean, she pretty much already had them abandon their way of life.

As for the ballista, I'm not saying it's not smart to produce a bajillion of them, I'm just saying that the rate at which they can produce them is limited (they can't have that many skilled siege engineer)
 and that when the Lannister army set for Highgarden there might not have been enough around to send more than one or two with Jaime: protecting King's Landing is more important so it makes sense to keep most of them there.

BTW, the show make a LOT more sense if you assume the characters know they are just character in a TV show.

Cersei also said she considered hiring the Golden Company too, and it's a toss up between which Queen will get the Golden Company. Frankly they're both terrible choices since they're both infertile and all other heirs and contenders for the throne are disqualified or extinguished. Thus upon the victory of either, Westeros will be immediately plunged into new civil war upon their death. Heck, maybe one of the warlords will be the Captain of the Golden Company
