Well, it's better than letting Dariush be our official greeter. I wouldn't have rushed it at all if I wasn't worried about others driving away new players by not being polite.

The way you say it makes it sound like he committed some sort of crime. Enthusiasm isn't something deserving of punishment or contempt.


We like to see new players. But some of us work out, and some of us don't. We won't know which you'll be until you try, but we appreciate it if you play a BM or two first because of how disruptive it is when players drop off the face of the earth in the middle (and trust me, it happens a lot).

You may have read a lot of forum mafia, but trust me, playing it is different.

This game isn't starting for a while, though. I'd recommend you sign up for the next BM so you can prove yourself before this game begins.

I seriously have never learned how to take a compliment. I usually just blush, look down and act awkward until people stop trying to compliment me. Is there some other way I should handle it?

sounds like me, only i usually don't believe the compliment half the time. I was once told i have a good understanding of logic, i looked at the guy like he'd gone insane.

But yeah, theres really no wrong way to take a compliment unless it involves insults or violence at the giver... I wish i could think of this kind of advice in my own life, it makes me sound like i know what i'm talking about when theres no umms in the sentences.

In my experience, that particular phrasing is almost always sarcastic. Maybe I'm just excessively self-conscious.

No, I don't think it's that bad at all. Hospitality isn't really the reason Mafia has a low retention rate either, but that's off-topic.
