Follow James until he finds a trap or something else of intrest. Just don't follow to close in case he finds a trap the hard way.

What is Grand Theft Anima? Also, send Squishy down the corridor to test for traps.

You take back the JOURNAL and send SQUISHEE down the hall with the rest of the group.
GRAND THEFT ANIMA can mean several things. It can mean to literally steal "Anima", which is a word for "soul" in an old language that pompous wizards in big fancy towers use to feel self-important. (Note to self: learn old language so you can feel self-important while being pompous in tower.)
It can also cover some varieties of MAGICAL ENSLAVEMENT, and the theft of certain ARTIFACTS.

Or it can mean that you stole a certain bit of anatomy from a certain kind of person.
Which tends to leave very noticable marks.

You tear the clothing enough to see the scars. They're not identical to your own, but they're close enough.

Follow James until he finds a trap or something else of intrest. Just don't follow to close in case he finds a trap the hard way.

You follow the others towards the LIGHT SOURCE.

You enter a hexagonal room, containing a HEXAGONAL CRYSTAL. Visible within the crystal is a SWORD.
The rooms also contains an ENGRAVED PEDESTAL and several SMALLER CRYSTALS embedded in the walls, presumably to provide illumination. CHARLIE, JESSE, JAMES, and SQUISHEE are here.

Place Squishee on crystal. Have Squishee mimic crystal. Examine results.

Ask the others what is up. Read the Engraved Pedestal.

Mention that there is a bounty on the dead guy at the mages guild, and that you'll split it with whoever wants to haul the remains out of the dungeon.

Assuming this room is a puzzle, let Charlie and James handle it. Have Squishee assume Crowbar Form and ask Jesse to use his WARRIOR MIGHT to pry a few light crystals off the wall as bonus loot to split.

Only pry the crystals after we've solved the puzzle. Don't want to lose access to the sword.

Also, it might get dark in the room without the crystals. So we probably want to do that last anyway.

We do have mage lights.

If taking the crystals out of the wall causes them to stop making light, we should leave one or two wall crystals untouched for now.

I didn't realize the crystals were a light source, I thought they were part of a puzzle. Haha. Take a few, they would look nice in our tower.

Place Squishee on crystal. Have Squishee mimic crystal. Examine results.
Ask the others what is up. Read the Engraved Pedestal.

You have SQUISHEE mimic the HEXAGONAL CRYSTAL. He is able to replicate its shape and color, but not its luminescence nor its translucency.

You ask the group if they have discovered anything about the room.
CHARLIE and JESSE have been examining the ENGRAVED PEDESTAL; they report that while the pedestal is very sturdily constructed, it is uninteresting save for the message engraved upon it. The message reads:
Submit Proof
Of Your
Mortal Ancestry

JAMES reports that his THIEF-SENSE detects a rather large amount of overlapping enchantments blanketing the crystal, such that he cannot tell what any one of them do. The crystal itself is also strange; when looking through it, he can see the other, smaller crystals, but not JESSE, CHARLIE or the PEDESTAL. He has heard of certain minerals with a similar property, but they aren't found in this part of the continent.

Have Squishee assume Crowbar Form and ask Jesse to use his WARRIOR MIGHT to pry a few light crystals off the wall as bonus loot to split.

You pry a LIGHT CRYSTAL from a wall. You expected it to be held to the wall in some way, but it actually comes off without any resistance.

Behind the crystal is a small hole, about an inch in diameter.

You remove all of the LIGHT CRYSTALS, for five in total. Two more of them concealed holes, while two did not.
They are heavier than they look, and continue to emit light even when separated from the wall.

Get Squishee into a small knife
Extract droplets of Blood onto Hexagon, if that doesn't work, drop more blood onto the pedestal, if that still doesn't work, add droplets into the Light Holes.

Our blood should prove well enough, as immortals don't tend to bleed.
