Bad Immaterial! Write on the board, a thousand times: "James is a friend, not a monster's chew-toy."

Remember how we 'helped' that golem working on our tower?
Cause one of the beast's arms and one of its body segments to grow in a way that hinders its balance and mobility. Avoid the now handicaped statue, and get to the entrance.
+1
+1, also make it's spikes less spiky.
I concur.

I don't think we need to blow MP making it less spikey if the plan is to preventing it from getting into spiking range in the first place.

Summon a large dog bone and throw it. See if the Bone Horror will chase it like a dog.
I'd suggest trying to throw a dog instead.
You know, James looks a little like a puppy. Just saying.

And now to wait for the hell-storm thats going to come my way.
To be fair, James just said that he needed us to distract the monster, he didn't specify how we were supposed to do it! Throwing a kobold at it would distract it, just like James wanted!

Yes but I don't think he wanted to be the distraction.

Then he should be more specific.

Hey, I'm not advocating kobold-cide. Besides, you only throw allies under the bus when it's the only option left.

You cast GOLEM ENLARGING SPELL OF INFINITE POWER (the name needs some work, you think) to enlarge the STATUE'S LEFT LIMB.
Its right limb fails to support its weight and breaks, leaving it unable to move.

JAMES slides past to the PEDESTAL, reaching it without incident.

He detects a SECRET BUTTON, presumably hiding the ENTRANCE.

He presses the SECRET BUTTON, and a section of PEDESTAL decends.

JAMES says he can't see the bottom, it's too dark even for his KOBOLD DARKVISION, and the sides of the ELEVATOR SHAFT are composed of BLINDING GRANITE, rendering his THIEF-SENSE ineffectual.
It is a straight drop downwards, with no handholds he can detect.

Dammit derm. He did the same to me. At least it's a good story.
Anyways...what tools do we have at our disposal, again?

Your inventory contains thus:
Your HAT, ROBES, and PENDANT (brown); Your MAGIC and SPELL books, BLACK-HAND JACK'S JOURNAL, a MANA POTION, and your ENCHANTED SWORD; three WANDS (Discount, Enchanting, Combat); your VAULT KEY, 200 GOLD, and an I.O.U. NOTE for 200 gold (from yourself).

CHARLIE and JESSE seem to be doing fine; while the STATUES are presumably very physically strong, they are slow and look to be mostly hollow. The one with the likeness of a BONE HORROR was likely the strongest of the four.

Tell them that we've found the way inside, and they need to com quick, while looking in our spellbook for any sort of Slow Falling spell.

Can't we levitate? If not, use James as a parachute.

I'm kidding. Calm down.
