Disappoint
« on: April 14, 2013, 02:39:32 pm »

So... Yes. I'm not so sure how many of you that do this, or do not care at all about it. But lately i've been shoftlifting sodas and that shit... usually around lunch. Sure, I can take it the easy way and blame it on me losing the only funds I get a month as a student but thatdoesn't cut it.
Recently I got caught by the store workers, they let me talk to the police and that and... That was the first time the thought ran through my head. "Why did you do this?".
I want to blame it on something, but the only thing I can blame on why I did this is me. Sure, i've got no money. Sure, i've got an addiction to sugar. But nope, it's me.

How do I vent this huge feeling of disappointment? When I couldn't prove myself enough for my dad or one of my exes I vent to the thickest nearest pine and bashed my head towards it till I could feel the pain seep out through the wound. I'm not so sure why i'm even ranting about this, it just feels like my brain's somewhere else than this wooden cranium of mine.

How do I vent

Sometimes it's easier to not have problems than to try to make yourself feel better about having them. This seems like an easy problem to not have.

What about the shop-owners? What am I supposed to do to them? Because just saying i'm sorry won't make up for it.

Direct the negative feelings toward getting better. Learn from the things that went wrong instead of dwelling on it to make yourself feel worse.

Ask them what you can do to make up for it?

That's already counted in for, still doesn't feel like i'll be able to make it up to them haha.

Edit: And sorry if I made it sound like i'm a jerk. Thanks for the help though!

Dwelling on failure never helps. I don't know any specific tips on profiting from it, though. It's kind of like moving on, but not forgetting; remembering what can be done better.

I think this is just one of those things where you have to let your guilt have its own way for a while.  Life isn't something where it's always in your best interest to feel good and be happy.
