Blood farming
« on: April 14, 2013, 08:05:19 am »

Don't asky why, but I'm trying to find the most efficient way to generate blood. Will atom-smashing change the smashed person into a pool of blood, or will he just dissapear? Maybe I should use marksdwarves with featherwood bolts?

Atom-smashing will just erase the victim from existence, not leaving a trace behind.

pitting live goblins that still have their breastplate and helmet intact on a serrated disc does the job. My corpse grinders naturally accumulate large amounts of blood on them when they were in use. Had like 3 pages full of "pool of [invader name]'s blood" where the disc was.

just make sure the discs are glass or lower so it cant slice through the copper goblinite.

Upright spike trap. Leave the spikes extended and drop someone onto it -- you don't even have to hook up a triggering mechanism (though it might be a good idea to do so anyway, just in case they survive the fall).

You could also turn on spatter tracking in the init files.  Dwarves will spread it everywhere if you do.

I find a fully loaded serrated blade trap will instantly fill a 3x3 with blood.
