Well, you could setup redirector posts. But that would effect all of your mobile units who mobile onto those planets.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

What exactly do redirector posts do?

... kinda' what it says on the tin. They're immobile rally points you can assign waypoints and such, like you would factories and whatnot. Redirect 'em, in other words. Loop the order back around to the rally point (or the system as a whole, I guess) and you'd have a patrol route... I think. I haven't played with 'em much.

A points to B points to C points to Q points to A, basically.

I had some fun with redirector posts yesterday with some friends. The results were not very great. The AI kept bringing in more troops to nearby planets so we decided to set up a redirector patrol on all enemy border planets since they still have supply and the posts are stealthed. The problem was that any units sent to those planets entered the patrol loop, large control groups got broken up, and trying to retrieve them was just plain hell unless you modified the loop to stop it and recuperate whatever survived the gauntlet and came out the other end.

If any of you know of any way to send units to a redirector planet without jumping into the loop, let me know, because as it stands, the loop is more trouble than help.

Well, there's one thing you can do. It won't stop the looping, but if you set the controls that units default to group move. That way at least your fleets will stick together. Also non-military do not rally is a good control to consider.
Otherwise you might want to depower the rally post when non-patrols are coming through the wormholes.

I just... I just want to throw this out there.

Don't. Don't play on a snake map with core shield generators enabled. Just... don't.

For those who don't see the immediate issue with that... about half way through the snake map, will be one of the AI homeworlds. In the half of the snake map on the other side of that homeworld... will be the rest of the core shield generators. It took me a couple minutes of staring and puzzling to figure out why the hell all the homeworld guard posts were invincible. When I did... I'm not ashamed to say I cried a little.

E: Spirecraft jumpships are freaking incredible. That is all.

E2: How to deal with core wrath lance: Mk IV spire jumpship full of spire penetrators. Splat!

E3: How to feel silly: Realize spire penetrators can't be transported.

Yeesh, doing a multi-thousand battle with 4 players really hurts game speed. 2% speed on Extremely Low anyone? :P
