Rebirth OOC/Signups [D&D 3.5e]
« on: April 13, 2013, 05:20:30 pm »

IC Thread

Well, a bit ago I came up with a detailed campaign story for D&D 3.5e. Unfortunately, I had some players drop out and the game ended up dying pretty quickly. They didn't really get into the actual plot, so I'm going to try to run it again. The game is in standard D&D 3.5e. It is a serious game. I will need at least 4 players, but I can certainly accept more if people are interested.

All WotC books are accepted. Starting level is 10. Roll 5d6 and take the three highest. Max hp at first level, roll after that. You may take up to 1 flaw and 2 traits. Post links to your rolls. If anyone knows what to use for hyperlinked rolls with Invisible Castle down, I'm looking for suggestions.

Players:
GreatWyrmGold- Nameless
SeriousConcentrate- Danforth Weaver
Ragnarok97071- Vitreous Dawn
Doomblade187- Jarden Neril
kj1225- Aedan Firedirk
Cheesecake- Gunjar Shieldbreaker
Waitlist:
tryrar
Dwarmin

It might be helpful if you let people know what the plot summary is, just knowing that it's D&D doesn't really narrow things down.

I like to keep the plot kind of secret so information gathering matters, but essentially the plot revolves around a powerful mage who is trying to enact a ritual to destroy everything. I's designed to be a full campaign rather than a single dungeon.

Why is he doing that? I mean does he just hate all things in existence including himself?

That would be one of the things for the party to figure out.

I would make a character for this on account of it looking fun but I don't know how.
Actually I always wanted to play d&d because it looked like my type of game.

No problem, you can learn. The rulebooks can be found here.  Use this to create a character sheet.

This is gonna take a while because the amount of stuff to fill in broke my head a little.
Also which books should I be looking at?
edit:  I'm about as lost as a 3 year old in a whorehouse.

For simplicity, just use the Player's Handbook I. It gives you most of what you need. For anything you can't find there, such as starting gold and magic item creation, use the Dungeon Master's Guide I. You start by rolling your stats, but we don't have a system for that at the moment. I'll work on that part.

Try just googling dice, I found a dice rolling site off the bat.

The problem is that they don't allow your rolls to be recorded. It's a measure to prevent cheating.

I wanna join in! The only time I've played D&D with my friends ended up badly. We were all just goofing off, fighting strippers magically bound to poles and facing off against the boss, Jap'neze the Tentacle Monster. I want to play an actual serious game of D&D now, but I've been reading the 4 edition rules, so forgive me if I make mistakes.

Dying of pure unbridled hatred, actually.

Ooh, I'm interested in this.

Setting? Also, what's everyone else thinking of playing?

Setting is standard D&D. You start at the Ye Olde Generic Startinge Bar.
