Hey, Richard von Charles the III, if I recall correctly, was chosen as our real name by popular consensus of two votes. Therefore it's the closest thing we have to a real name.

Yes, and if I wasn't explicit before, I hereby veto it as being too silly for the name of a demonic nightmare creature from the abyss
Oh, oh dear, well, it is your call after all, I guess Richard really isn't the name of anyone intimidating. I propose Richtard vorn K'tarles thee IV.

Also long as we masquerade as an angel named Richard von Charles the III, I'm in.

.
Try to surreptitiously and mysteriously kill all but one miner. Then write a heartfelt note on the ground with their entrails explaining how you're terribly sorry for all this business, but angels simply have to come down and strike some sinners down once in a while. Otherwise, how would they know to fear the heavens? Be as nice as possible in the note. Sign it as Richard von Charles the Third.

Afterwards, leave this entire area and look for new places to spread the joy.

The basic premise is great, but I object to Richard von Charles the Third being our own name. However, if we are pinning this on angels, then a pompous name such as that would send the right message.
Agreed.
I agree.

The U.S, we start in late August or early September, get out mid-June and the last month or so is crunch time. And our summer is your winter, Gamerlord. Anyway, update is now in the works.

Experimenting with your new form, you swipe at a torch bracket on the wall with your claws, and the iron snaps with a sharp metal ping.

Nearby, the two miners have given up searching for their colleague and head back. Working their way up the slanting tunnel with long, iron tipped staves, a dense and unearthly fog suddenly descends on them and causes them to lose sight of each other.

"Teodric, where are you?"

"Over here! What the hell...URK"

Teodric's last thought is a dim sense of surprise at the claw poking through his throat, and he falls without a sound. Sagard, the other miner, rushes to his aid, but he is too late. A considerable stream of blood trickles down the sloped passage, mingling with the dusty stone.

A sudden swish, like that of a cloak, appears behind Sagard and he turns and raises his pickaxe, but he no longer has it. In fact, he no longer has his hands or forearms, and blood gushes from the stumps. Noticing a sudden feeling of warmth in his chest, he looks down and finds a claw puncturing his sternum and puncturing his heart. More blood pours from his chest wound and a deep slash in his throat that he couldn't remember receiving.

Falling to the floor, he sees one last thing before he dies - a terrifying, four-armed being with an inexplicable aura of chaos surrounding it. His dimming thoughts are dominated by its two flaming, malicious blue eyes.

Strength: 14, base 10 (+2 for killing (Permanent), +2 for killing (temporary), +2 from a good meal)
Mind:  10, base 8 (+2 for killing (Permanent), +2 for killing (temporary))

Captured Souls: 3

Time: 1:30 PM

Sooner or later, the miners are probably going to notice that none of the people sent into the deeper tunnels are returning.

MINOR EDIT: Slight modification to improve the smoothness of the reading.

Sorry for the triple post, but I'd figure I would add something about how the food system and stats work.

Food

The consumption of one human gives a bonus of three strength, up to a maximum of 50% of your base strength. This means that if your strength is 20, you can gain another 10 by eating. Food consumed after this point will still be stored but will give no bonus, and will be tracked as a separate stat.

Mind is affected by eating at a rate 1/4 that of strength, meaning that if you gain 12 STR from a meal, your Mind will increase by 3.

Starvation and Death

You require 1 point of food, or 1/3 of a human corpse, per day per 10 STR, and this is rounded up. Temporary buffs will not be counted, so your base strength is what matters here. Worship can greatly reduce this or even eliminate the need for food, and demons without worshippers often retreat back into the Immaterium or starve and are banished due to their constant need for fresh meat.
Failure to consume enough food will result in a reduction of strength and mind in a 4:1 ratio. Upon your strength reaching zero for any reason, you are banished back into the Immaterium and may eventually reappear at a random time and place.

Other Stuff

Causing general chaos and fear also gives you bonuses, but this is temporary and wears off in the same way hunger does. Killing people immediately after causing fear negates their bonuses.

Killing humans gives a permanent +2 bonus to stats and a temporary +2 as well, which wears off the same way hunger does. Your minions also require sustenance, provided by magic or traditional food sources. This will be included in their descriptions, and the Spectres described above need one food unit per day. Traditional zombies require half that, and ghouls require half that again due to their diminished needs for self-repair.

Fresh meat is the baseline food source, consisting of one third of a human corpse or 1 point of your Strength. Minions also require varying amounts of Mind to control.

This system means that you are capable of living solely off of fear, chaos, worship, and/or death with no negative effects aside from the loss of the bonus from eating. However, fresh meat is enjoyable and demons such as yourself often find themselves with a surplus of it.

EDIT for clarity.

We're currently a badass. Let's slaughter the rest of the miners, one by one.

Then, at midnight on the dot, drop a dense and heavy fog around the village. Anyone awake will flip out. We will whisper in everyone's ears to fear and worship us or die. We'll invade the sleeping's dreams with night terrors, with this message as well.

Create a pair of ghosts and eat a soul. Haunted mines are the best!
Hide the evidence then try to infiltrate the shallower tunnels, but prioritise stealth.

We aren't there yet. Also, we do not know if the townspeople even believe in angels, or what their religion is in the first place.

FYI, fog on that scale will cost some Mind but it would probably be worth it.

Create a pair of ghosts and eat a soul. Haunted mines are the best!
Hide the evidence then try to infiltrate the shallower tunnels, but prioritise stealth.

Anyone else support this approach?

EDIT: Above post updated.

EDIT2:

Available Food
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

EDIT3: I will do my best to push out another update today if a consensus can be reached. Also, if we go with the spectre approach, should we have them float around and cause fear, cause general consternation by knocking things over and making a nuisance of themselves, let them go on a rampage, or something in between?
