ok, sorry. I guess I was flailing. Ranger's comment about misquoting really is a bladfaced lie, but apparently I lost my temper pretty badly. I really do think that most of you are full of it. I think I kinda forced leafsnail to vote me, I'm... unsure about shinigami and ranger (I don't read people as well while i'm mad), Deathsword's still scum of course, and toaster and Nerjin have me confused.

Nerjin, I really need to know what posts you're spending all this time talking about if i'm going to address the issue. by refusing to tell me that, you are constantly changing what it is you're talking about to consistantly portray me in a poor light.

overall this has stopped being fun for me, and i'm debating between sticking this out and hoping things will get better, or just up and replacing already. from my perspective, i'm being attacked for RPing and a RP heavy game, which is quite simply dumb. I have no reason to hang around the subforum in general if all it is is anger and drop-dead seriousness. I play Games to have fun. and if there's no fun to be had...

For all those voting for Lenglon, I'd like to ask on an expounding of their case on her. You all mostly say her RP is like a cover up? I don't sense that..for while it seems to be long winded and all that blah blah stuff, I really don't think people would do such an act this early in time, with that kind of context as a 'cover story.'

tl;dr: Newbie scum? Don't think they'll play like that. I'm leaning on fun and humor, but I see her scumhunting--where was the active lurking? That means she's putting fluff posts. Where are the fluff posts? How do they affect the game?

"I tend to use fairly open and normal tactics most of the time. the only time I'd use something unique would be when we're nearing the endgame, or if I have information that isn't public, and even then it would have to be customized to the situation."

(I dont think I should answer this, you're referencing a different, and currently still active. game. I'll do it anyway because the question back then was refencing a now finished game, and you could replicate it easilly enough. but seriously, you should have asked me there, before you replaced, not in here.)
"Well Shinigami-kun, you seem to have a whole lot of respect for me, but that respect is based on a very small sample of what I could do. The thing is, that sample was taken under pretty much optimal conditions for me. I was a total unknown, which meant I knew exactly what other people thought of me. I only had a few people to have to read the dynamics of. I had several days of backlog to read over, as well as nightkills and such. In that specific circumstance, it was very easy to try for a high-risk gamble, and I had a lot of material to work with that so far nobody else had questioned or analyzed. If you re-read that game, although I had a strong opening set of moves, I ran out of steam very fast. In just about any other circumstance, the play I attempted wouldn't have worked. Even then, under the best conditions available to me, it didn't work. Specfically, I lost perspective. If i'd stuck with the same strong analysis that I'd used for my opening moves that game, and trusted my instincts, we would have won. That mistake still fills me with shame. I dont think i'll ever get a chance to demonstrate my skills and styles as good as that one was, ever, again. I don't know how to make circumstances that give me those kind of optimal conditions either. In short, I'm strongest in the endgame, and even then, I messed up, and I dont think I deserve the high praise and respect you've shown me for that kind of limited skillset and poor display."

Lenglon: deflecting suspicion onto other people is really not a good way to respond to an allegation.  It implies you're thinking about your actions in terms of "How can I fit in" rather than "why is what I am doing justified".  What I mean is that while you have been posting content, it all gives the impression that you're trying to fill space rather than achieve anything meaningful.  Much like a 10 minute lecture on magical circuits, or a lacrosse training arc.

Lurking will actually attract quite a lot of attention. You know what makes you not be noticed? Active-lurking. Posting a lot of fluff with no real meat in it. Like you.

Let me repeat myself: you are active-lurking. To active lurk is to say a lot of things that mean absolutely nothing. To RP and buddy and looking busy without actually doing any real work. As Leafsnail said, you are attempting a deflection. Real town simply wouldn't care and instead scumhunt.

"Um, the answers to both of those questions are related, actually. Leafsnail-senpai's accusation of me lurking, whatever kind it may have been, didn't make sense at first for several reasons. First of all, it's the weekend. I could legitimately have simply chosen to not post at all today and yesterday, and nobody would have questioned it. Secondly, even if lurking during the weekend was something that actually was problematic, then it made no sense to be accusing someone who was being active in any form, over someone who wasn't being active at all. Leafsnail-senpai hasn't said anything at all to Dariush-senpai or several others who have been lurking this weekend. This inconsistency, which was left unaddressed even when I pointed it out, meant that something singled me out other than my activity. A good way to do that would be to tell me what I was doing wrong, and vote for me to make me feel a sense of urgency. That is why I questioned why I was singled out for questioning about activity levels, and why I thought, and still think, that Leafsnail-senpai is simply trying to teach me to improve, and doesn't actually wish me ill."

If I was actually rolefishing, it would have made things look like I had been undetected, so if that was what I was really doing I'd try it again, possibly on someone else, and you'd be able to make a case out of it. as it was, it was too weak to really prove anything.
I had to be really careful about who I asked that by the way. I needed to make sure that whoever I asked would be someone experienced enough to not give the wrong answer. what I was wondering was what your follow up would be, and the level of awareness shown in your answer makes me think you operate at a minimum of tier 3 in WIFOM situations. possibly higher. this told me what kinds of possible slips to look for, although in of itself any answer at all to that question is a nulltell. the respect is because tier 3 is a royal pain to catch, let alone anything higher than that. in point of fact how well you answered that question is why I have you as null instead of leaning town. I have too much respect for you to think that your actions really indicate if you're town or not.

She is here to have fun and she is having it. I haven't been RPing because I find it would require more time and consideration but if she wants to do it (especially when everyone else is doing it) then let her. I see no real reason to attacking her for it.

Shinigami and I have been in the exact same games as each other. We both replaced late in to the same BM for our first game, we both began in the same BM for our second game (with you GMing Tiruin), and for both of us this is our third game. I explained my views on WIFOM to him in the past, and he has the most hands-on-experience with how I interpret that kind of information of anyone here. It's only natural that if anyone would understand what I mean on the subject, he would.

oh, and to head off the oncoming "don't read into the WIFOM" speech. I've heard it already, and know better than to read into the nightkills and such under normal circumstances. I've simply found other uses for the information and think it is useful to know how people think.
