Peasantry: Festival time! Something about mucking about with seasonal fruit that would go bad otherwise...

OOC: Yay update!

Davven paused to consider the questions a moment, taking a moment to look over his shoulder at his peers who would easily be within earshot of the conversation. He would be the first to admit that he was not having the easiest time with his studies. Perhaps he just needed to apply himself more.

"Well, I must admit that methods seem to come much easier to me. It's hard to not be frustrated sometimes when the spheres continue to allude me. When I arrived I had dreams of using magic to restore life to the sick and dying, but it seems I'm having difficulty grasping the core concept. But if not Life or Fire, what else?"

"Hm. What indeed..."

Master Vadhe ponders for a few moments before continuing.

"When Sark is able to stand on his own, perhaps I will attempt to show you something new."

Zuth's journal Month two, week 3
I have had two very, very successful weeks behind me. The agreement between the farmers and shamblers seems to be going smoothly. Much thanks to me.
They do owe me some favours now, while I don't have anything I want from them right now, that might change in the future. Until then I get the first pick on the meat and other raw materials in a few farms whenever I want to, which is never a bad thing when I invite a possible client to my humble housing.

Oh, and regarding my house, I had to sell it to bribe the right people allowing me to become an apprentice. Vadhe is currently offering housing me in the mansion where we are training.* Hopefully I will be able to regain some of my former assets with the help of some magic.

Mansion is a bit of an exaggeration, while the house is beautiful in it's simplicity, it doesn't offer much comfort.

"It is an honour serving under you and this city master. I can only hope that I will continue to be helpful. For my future plans, I will need some expertise which I fear that none of us have. My people have legends about creatures made of stone and metal working deep in the mines. The legend say that these creatures was created by the finest craftsmen the world has ever seen. But now I begin to suspect that they were actually mages. Able to create the spark of life and pour it into bodies made by skillfull craftmen. I wish to study if there is any truth in these legends, and if it is possible to bring life into dead things.  I need to commandeer a craftsman who is used to work with stone and metals alike. Do you think it is possible?"

"Hm. What indeed..."

Master Vadhe ponders for a few moments before continuing.

"When Sark is able to stand on his own, perhaps I will attempt to show you something new."

Davven nodded in reply. "I am always grateful for any knowledge you impart of course. I'll continue to study along with you for the time being." It was becoming more and more clear that it would take years and years of intense study before he could call himself a wizard proper, but Davven was commited to his task."

"Sark..." He looks at you for a few moments, his eyes kind but seemingly looking for something. "Do you feel that Fire Magic is your true calling?"
"Well, I am not quite sure, which is why I asked you about other spheres earlier. I think if it doesn't take too long I should focus on getting proficient in Fire Magic."

Continue studying with Master Vadhe.

"A craftsman should not be a problem. One as skilled as you require may be more difficult, but I will do what I can."

Master Vadhe nodded after a moment.

"Yes, that would probably be wise."

He seemed to consider something a moment longer, but nodded again and moved on a moment later.

"I believe I'm going to paint a peasent a lovely shade of murder if I can't make some Shrael damned progress here."

Join Ragnarok in LEARNING SOMETHING
[5] Finally. It's all clear to you now! You get it. You finally get Life Magic! (+2 Spell, +1 Life)

Refreshing Nap remains beyond your grasp. But you can research it on your own now, should you so choose.

"This spell is the most elusive knowledge I have sought since that of giving an unprepared speech to a large gathering."

I will learn refreshing nap!
[1] Very elusive indeed. (Nothing!)

[3] Progress is modest, but so was your lack of understanding. You can now cast Refreshing Nap, assuming you have the mana. (+1 Spell)

Study along with Vadhe.

[1] Nothing seems to go right. You can't figure out how the spell is supposed to work.

[5] Master Vadhe has you and Davven work on a spell called Inspiring Courage, intended to make a force fight more effectively. You take to it quite well. (+2 Spell, +1 Fire)

Moreover, you finally grasp Fire Magic properly. You too are now a full apprentice.

Vadhe: [5] Master Vadhe is very good at teaching this particular spell, and Sark and Davven both benefit immensely from it. (+2 Spell, +1 Fire for Sark and Davven)

There's another ceremonial feast for Shek and Sark's successes. Both receive robes, though Sark's is a bit more like a harness in the back, to better accommodate his spines. It also bears a decidedly flame-like symbol on the front, rather than the Life Magic everyone else's has.

"I am pleased that you all continue to improve. As with the others, you have earned a boon from me. Ask and I shall attempt to deliver."

[2] Master Vadhe's attempts to find a suitable craftsman for Zuth prove fruitless.

Hopefully we will be able to find me a craftman soon. Untill then, I will do my best to help the city.

Cast refreshed nap on myself if there is any mana for it.

If not, study the healing spell.
If there is, also use the spare time to improve my diplomacy. So that I don't spend more mana than necessary.
