Turn 6: Flawless and Gainless

(Sorry for not answering yesterday, this game surely is progressing fast. During weekends I I might not be able to keep up with this fast tempo, and during the summer I will probably travel quite a lot, which will slow my response rate ever further. So if you want to kick me out I fully understand.)

Zuth was contempt with his progress. Al tough he still needed to much more knowledge to further his cause. He approached his master.
"Master Vadhe. I humbly ask you aid me in my quest to studythe secrets of life magic. While I have a basic understanding of both the art of Enchanting and Evocation. I need help if I in the future hope to be able to study on my own."

"Regarding the shamblers I have a possible solution. Since it would be very dishonourable of us to deny refugees we need to help them. Both me and Wallace have some experience in diplomacy. We could try to struck a deal between the leader of the Shambler and some of the larger farmers around the city. I have heard rumours that Shamblers are great at tending gardens, so farming shouldn't be very difficult for them to handle. In return the farmers are obliged to provide shelter and food for their new workers. I am not sure if the plan have any chance to succeed, but if the original population get a chance to make a profit from our new guest I assume they would be way more acceptive towards them"

(Very Dwafy thinking indeed :P)
Zuth sent a servant to search the city for the most proficient smithy's and stonemasons and return to him with details regarding their numbers and quality, looking for one he might hire for the upcoming weeks....

Try to study any sphere of life, preferably with the teacher. Offer to stuck a deal between farmers and Shamblers. Search for details regarding smithy's
"I fear Sark requires my assistance more than you do, Zuth. You should endeavor to work with the others."

He ponders your proposal for a bit, however.

"That is an intriguing idea. You are welcome to try, if you think it can succeed."

[6] With Wallace's help, you make great strides on his Refreshing Nap spell. Interesting. (+2 Spell, +1 Evocation, +1 Life)

[5][4][5] As it turns out, both the human farmers and shambler refugees are thrilled with the idea, and you quickly manage to broker an arrangement that soon has farmers bidding on shambler assistance. Vadhe praises you publicly and at length for your brilliant solution.

City Project Upgraded: Farms -> Shambler Farms

CONTINUE STUDYING LIFE MAGIC.

Preferrably under the Master, and so on and so forth.

[2] With the Master busy, you join forces with Wallace. Unfortunately Wallace isn't nearly as adept or interested in helping you as the Master, and so you merely pick up some evocation knowledge. (+1 Evocation)

Davven fumed as he heard about the plight of the Shamblers. They were strange creatures to be sure, but no one deserved to be driven away from their home. He had lost his own home to a band of Gnolls, and he would not stand by and let it be done again if possible.

"Master, whatever you decide about the fate of the Shamblers we should be prepared for these raiders. Men like these are seldom satisfied with the lot they have and if they see a jewel like Landsend undefended as it is, I have no doubt they will try to take it. I suggest we begin preparations for a town militia to help combat any banditry that may occur. I would be more than happy to volunteer my knowledge. Perhaps some of these Shamblers could be useful in providing details on the bandits composition."

Offer to help setup a town watch for Landsend
"Hm... if that is what you think is best."

[2] Sadly, setting up a militia or town watch is more difficult than you anticipated, and you're unable to make much progress.

"We should give them refuge. If not for moral reasons, then because it is better to have more citizens who dislike each other than a small insular community. Should we need to spend time learning spells of contentment, so be it. On that line, Master, are there any spells we could learn, as we are now, that would keep the general populace happy?"

Refreshing Nap

Life/Evocation

Put a willing target into a magic rest that grants most of the effects of a full night's rest in twenty minutes. Fully restores stamina, and gives morale like a full night of sleep, but does nothing for aching muscles. Takes five minutes to cast, may be used on oneself or another.

Research Refreshing Nap if someone with Evocation helps. Otherwise study with Master Vadhe. ((One day, I will have this spell.))
[1] You hit a peculiar snag, and can't quite make your way past it. It's very unfortunate. (Nothing)

Sark was somewhat worried about the situation with the refugees, but unfortunately could not see any way to resolve it.

Continue studying with Master Vadhe.
[4] You continue to progress in Fire Blast. (+1 Spell, +1 Evocation)

Study with other apprentices
[3] You make a bit of progress on Wallace's peculiar spell. (+1 Spell)

Vadhe continues to train Sark in Fire Blast.

Vadhe: [2] Which is to say, he trains Sark in Evocation. (+1 Evocation for Sark)

She looks down, a bit hurt by that, honestly. "Yeah... That's our problem, isn't it? So close, but so far..."

Davven returned tired, and muddy, but had very little to show in terms of progress the Master. It seemed preparing the citizens of this town for the eventualities of war. Most didn't see the point of a march let alone taking orders. Perhaps he needed more time, but he also couldn't fall behind on his studies. Unsure of the proper course he sought Vadhe.

"Master, I regret to inform you that my progress in setting up a militia has not met with much success. The people do not see any threat and it seems difficult to motivate them. What is more pressing? Should I continue my efforts with the townsfolk, or resume my studies with you?"

Study with the Master or go and attempt to train the militia more, whatever the Master thinks is more pressing.

Turn 7: Tough Choices

Study Refreshing Nap again.
[2] It doesn't quite click for you. (+1 Evocation)

Evocation does, however. You are now skilled in Life, Evocation, and Enchantment.

*Fluff will come depending on when the next turn arrive*

Study Refreshing Nap.
[5] You make excellent progress in both the spell and Life magic. (+2 spell, +1 Life)

In fact, you are now proficient in Life Magic. Combined with your skill in Evocation and Enchantment, you are qualified to be counted as a "full" apprentice.

"I believe the city to be relatively safe from small bands, at least at the moment."

[4] You make some progress in Basic Fire Resist. (+1 Spell, +1 Enchantment)

[3] You learn a bit with Wallace and Zuth. (+1 Spell)

Continue studying with Master Vadhe.

Mooch off Wallace
[1] Your inexcusable sloth results in a complete lack of progress.

Vadhe: [2] Vadhe refines his pupils' knowledge of enchantments. (+1 Enchantment for Davven and Sark)

Master Vadhe holds another ceremonial feast to celebrate Zuth's mastery of both a Method and a Sphere. His praise seems more general this time, mentioning how excellent it is that you're all advancing in Life Magic.

Davven receives a robe much like Wallace's, and like Wallace, Vadhe offers him a boon of his choice.

[?]

He takes Sark and Davven aside separately, though not far enough away that everyone else can't eavesdrop.

"Sark..." He looks at you for a few moments, his eyes kind but seemingly looking for something. "Do you feel that Fire Magic is your true calling?"

"Davven. Do you feel a particular affinity for Methods? Do you think Fire or Life magics are your calling?"

OOC: Yay update!

Davven paused to consider the questions a moment, taking a moment to look over his shoulder at his peers who would easily be within earshot of the conversation. He would be the first to admit that he was not having the easiest time with his studies. Perhaps he just needed to apply himself more.

"Well, I must admit that methods seem to come much easier to me. It's hard to not be frustrated sometimes when the spheres continue to allude me. When I arrived I had dreams of using magic to restore life to the sick and dying, but it seems I'm having difficulty grasping the core concept. But if not Life or Fire, what else?"
