Digging a Hole
« on: April 23, 2008, 03:24:00 am »

I know this sounds easy, but for the life of me i cant figure out how to turn a floor panel into an open space. Is there some trick to it that i'm just not seeing?

Unless you built the floor, in which case you must deconstruct it.
(d)esignate -> deco(n)struct    if im not mistaken.

It is tricky when your miner can't access the floor to be mined/deconstructed.

Instead of just mining through areas where I want both the floor and walls killed, I find it easier to make all the wall squares into ramps and then remove them with d->z.  I don't remember where I read that, though.

So, you might need to build stairs up (ramps are tricky and only work with an adjacent wall) to get to the floor before you can channel it out.
