With a shrug, you dig in, "Thanks, I gues-mf!" Your eyes flood with tears, stars flashing in the corners of your vision. Coherent thought returns gradually, centered on the intense, spicy heat of the wafer. The goo makes for an interesting counterpoint, freezing cold against the heat. It takes surprisingly little time for you to wolf down the entire thing; maybe you were hungrier than you thought. The bizarre food wasn't good, exactly, but it'll do. Your forehead is laden with heavy drops of sweat.

Panting, you continue, lowering your hand for Basin to clean, "Haa, I'm not really sure. I just thought about what I needed and you showed up. Why?"

"Wait just a minute, lady. No way could you have power wivout knowing how it works. Things don't work dat way. Even if ya didn't study, the absorption requires understanding ta work. When didja do the ritual?"

This is what happens when we go around picking up random rocks; we accidentally summon a imp from either New York or an Italian mob, I cant quite tell.

in any case, remember that he is not a member of our party when talking to him.

The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

To be fair, they weren't quite random, and they were gemstones. On the upside, maybe you can convince him to collect protection money if you find a town. :P

"Well, there's something to be said about muscle memory. And apparently I'm kinda special- no ritual required. Say, do you have any more of those cakes?"

I would try to get him to say more, but that would likely devolve into give & take. And we don't have anything to give really. Plus we can't really bluff at this point, (successfully at least). Just try to loll him into a false sense of security.

It would be nice if we could heal our arm, also mention the gemstones that we poked/ate/absorbed.

Nah, no reason to volunteer more information- he's a demon after all.

I take it that he is not a temporary summon, but a permanent one then? Less genie, more companion.

Chuckling mentally, you duck the question, "Well, there's something to be said about muscle memory. And apparently I'm kinda special- no ritual required. Say, do you have any more of those cakes?" You pause for a moment, then glance at your splinted arm, "This could be a bit better, too. Can you take care of that?"

Isk snorts, "More food and healing? Whadda I look like, an all-in-one dispensary?" Nevertheless, he poofs a second wafer into his undersized hands, tossing it at your feet. You can make out what looks like an expression of extreme effort under his helmet a split second before a jagged orange-purple bolt of lightning jets from the little... thing's hands into your injured arm. "That's it, I'm outta here," Isk waves to the empty air, continuing, "Humans. They use ya up and toss ya away like a tool, amiright fellas?" Another large cloud of smoke erupts, seemingly from nowhere, and by the time it is gone the creature has vanished.

Your arm feels as if it is burning up, and aches as if you had just worked nonstop for a good long day. Grimacing, you pick up the second wafer, dusting it off and adding it to your pack. You aren't sure if you remember which way you were going. Something in your satchel is vibrating slightly.

((Not quite. He, and other things of a similar nature, can stay precisely as long as either you or they wish when summoned in this way.))

Okay, so demonic summoning power recharges at a rate of once per day, and the summon leaves when it has expended its energy.

Onward, go forward! And jump constantly, we need to train our jumping.

Do we have a jumping skill? +1 to that if we do.
Let's see why our pack's vibrating.

(I'd still rather go on the path...which would be backtracking..)

I vote we keep an eye out for high ground. Also, see if Basin wants a taste of the cake thing.
