I'll just drop this here, in case someone wants to reference it:

Several sentences about the "servant" summoned by the ritual have been underlined. They discuss the servant's preternatural ability to form something called "grafted prana" into coherent spells within minutes of absorbing it; apparently this is a notable ability and was believed to be an effect imposed by the ritual. However, given that the next paragraph is devoted to a description of the magician and her servant beating a dragon to death with another dragon, the veracity of this information is questionable.

;)

...
that quote makes everything better.

Cut the vine. Strain the sap. Drink the water.

We're dyin' can't really hope to hold out much longer.  Besides, if we're a skilled mage (which we don't know due to amnesia) then our instincts could have just MADE a plant, a new species, that would rehydrate us and possibly contain all those medicinal goodies plants tend to have within them.  Long shot, but meh.

EDIT: i appear to be wishy-washy right now, *shrugs*

Argh, looks like we're gonna drink magic plant sap. We gotta find basin, & find the kitchen in here.
Also need to find this magician we're supposed to be assisting.
Btw, how large is basin?

((If he were a perfect sphere, approximately 10 inches in diameter. So very roughly, 8.6 liters of liquid. Update whenever I wake up.))

Straining it may not remove poison, may remove the "medicinal goodies", and may introduce the "black robe" goodies... I am going to hold fast to my bite-its-neck-and-suck-out-its-blood approach...

break one part off, lick the sap once, check if it feels itchy, burny, causes swelling, or anything else like that. if it has no negative effects after a little bit, drink the sap, unstrained.

If it's hallucinogenic, drink it faster.

After testing several leaves, you find that they are too thin to hold any appreciable amount of liquid. Grimacing as you accidentally jar your arm, you draw one of the crossbow bolts and punch a hole through a vine. A thin, amber-tinged liquid oozes out of the gash; it's thinner than honey but nothing close to water. Carefully, you lick the tip of the bolt, tasting the sap. It is quite sweet, with a rather heady character, almost like a fruit wine.

You wait several minutes desperately wishing that you could drink more now. Giggling slightly, you conclude that there isn't anything wrong. You wave the golem over to have a drink with you as you seize the vine, sucking at the wound until you cannot draw forth any more sap. It's refreshing, but you're feeling a tad woozy. Nothing to worry about, though. Basin gradually fades into view from the dark hallway to the south, and you greet him with a cheery cry, "Heeey~ I was wondering where you went, little guy!"

Basin swirls around your legs, tugging you in the direction he came from. The chills seem to have dulled slightly, but you still wish you could have managed to pull more clothes on.

[] No! Drink MORE!
[] Okay, follow the sentient liquid.
[] Cut off another section of vine, drink as you are carried/walk.
[] Write-in.

Follow Basin. We're still thirsty, and we gave him a task. Also we're drunk.

Cut off a section and follow basin, we need something to drink that isn't a companion...

and we shouldn't have any more of that sap at all. why on earth would it being hallucinogenic be a good thing?
