((On the plus side, at least it isn't something like a distal radius fracture that would completely fuck up your arm without the sort of surgical intervention that you won't be finding around here. Humerus fractures tend to heal on their own without complications as long as nothing bad happens during the healing process, and that debacle with your green power might have helped it along. Maybe. Or the bone might be a root now.))

Stripping the corpses, you attempt to doff your current clothing, but your arm protests forcefully. Gritting your teeth, you hand the cleaner robe and leathers, as well as the cotton shirt and trousers that were beneath the latter, to the golem, along with the dead woman's worn leather boots. Climbing back into its grasp, you guide it back to the new plant. The vines are thicker than your arm but are no longer visibly growing. They have sprouted wide, oval-bladed leaves with smooth edges and spread across the width of the hall in the time you were gone. Basin is nowhere in sight. You climb off of the golem and awkwardly pull the boots on one-handed. At least you won't be cutting your feet on rubble any more. The boots are a little bit loose, but they'll do.

A chill runs down your back, and you feel terribly thirsty.

i dont know enough about plants to identify the vines, so i dont know if eating them is a good idea or not. unless someone can ID the things, how about we go down the south corridor and hope to find water?

The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Google suggests that it might be a gourd, but I'm not sure.

Do ya have a link?

Look for some evidence of roots. Cut & observe sap- a note: even if it looks like pure water, for all we know it has neurotoxins. Try out power?

I do. In fact, I have two.

The main google thing. The second link to the Kentucy thing is a Powerpoint, FYI.

Gourds.

Don't think it's a gourd- looking around, gourds don't have vines thicker than a human arm. Only mention of vines in the PP was poison ivy.

-edit
Hey you guys- what if we weren't the only one summoned? What if someone else woke up before us? Hmm. They'd have to be awfully powerful, and rather hasty, to leave zombies and a golem lying around in their wake.

I don't think that things like us are the only things able to use that sort of power. I could be wrong. Something capable of summoning whatever we are (or were supposed to be, if the summon failed to do its intended thing) may also be capable of doing this sort of thing, or this could be residual magic. We don't really know enough to be making assumptions, I don't think.

Cut the vine. Strain the sap. Drink the water. Try to sense Basin, and go after him.

I didn't dig too deep. I spent about 60 seconds on that search, including failed searches.

We're dyin' can't really hope to hold out much longer.  Besides, if we're a skilled mage (which we don't know due to amnesia) then our instincts could have just MADE a plant, a new species, that would rehydrate us and possibly contain all those medicinal goodies plants tend to have within them.  Long shot, but meh.

I vote more inspection over blind self-experimentation.

@demdem
/shrug
It looks an awful lot like ours- substantial chunk of the ceiling gone & all that, and we already know they were trying to summon us. Making two attempts seems more logical than assuming something else in the world has the ability to manipulate prana, (obscure text from earlier implies it's a rare gift). It's all conjecture, but conjecture can be fun!

I'll just drop this here, in case someone wants to reference it:

Several sentences about the "servant" summoned by the ritual have been underlined. They discuss the servant's preternatural ability to form something called "grafted prana" into coherent spells within minutes of absorbing it; apparently this is a notable ability and was believed to be an effect imposed by the ritual. However, given that the next paragraph is devoted to a description of the magician and her servant beating a dragon to death with another dragon, the veracity of this information is questionable.
