After a moment of consideration you remember that hot things can be used to seal wounds. It doesn't really matter whether it's a bit of hot metal or an open flame, right?
...
Several frantic minutes and one burned sleeve later, you realize that attempting to cauterize a wound with a candle flame is not as easy as it sounds, and it doesn't sound easy to begin with! By this point there is less than a quarter inch of candle left in the candlestick. The wound is more or less scorched shut, but it still hurts like hell As the flame gutters lower, you dig out the other candle from the clusterfuck of rocks in one of your pockets, hastily lighting it. For the moment you set it in a small pocket of rubble while you dig out some of the wax from the holder with a rock, then transfer it. Operation: Keep Candle Burning is a success. At least for however long this candle will last.
With the important business out of the way, you concentrate on the strange force that invaded your mind a few minutes ago, idly stroking the feathers of the dead carnizelle with a free hand. It begins with a hint of fungi and decay, growing to include the cool feel of freshly turned soil on your skin. You're buried, aching to get out, writhing with insects and rot. You punch upward with all of your strength, shattering the loose earth. You feel a cool wind on your arm as something
snaps inside you. Energy oozes from your core along your right arm, wreathing the carnizelle corpse in ribbons of black-purple ooze. It shudders, climbing slowly to its feet, eyes dull and empty.
