Worship at shrine, then deanimate it, then animate fluid, then have the fluid get the items while worshipping at the shrine again.

Bowing your head briefly as you lay hands upon the shrine, you concentrate, drawing your power from it. Before continuing, you blow out your candle. A thin tendril of smoke curls towards the ceiling, still lit by the light of the pool. Hesitating for a moment, uncertain of how to proceed, you eventually settle for holding your right hand palm-down just above the surface of the pool. Black ooze flows forth, mixing with the liquid, bending it to your will.

A watery tentacle rises out of the basin, carrying a trio of tiny gemstones with it. Unthinking, you reach out and take them, brushing against the tip of it. Your hand tingles with a faint warmth while the tentacle withdraws back into the basin, joining the rest of the animated liquid in swirling gently around. As it does, the blue light shifts in time with its movement, casting strange shadows. This time you barely have a chance to identify the stones (another onyx, a black diamond, and an emerald) before the arrays within them erupt in light, crumbling to dust.

You feel the source of the familiar power increase dramatically as it is joined by two new feelings; funereal tones and damp earth blend with a faint sulphurous odor and a sensation of freshness and growth, tinged with a sharp musk. The overlapping sensations are heady and confusing, but you eventually clear your head, turning to the now-unmoving shrine. Bowing to it again, you channel the power into it again. For some reason it feels easier this time.

Wait, we have sulphur & musk. Growing is part of the former or latter. I'd say meditate first.
Then shake hands- with our non-dominant hand.
Use growth on burn, hope it doesn't grow the bacteria.

You are ambushed by an attack of the feels and reach out to the blob of liquid, silently asking for a hug. It wraps itself around you as you snuggle into it, allowing it to flow over your head and back. Strangely it doesn't feel wet at all, more like a heated blanket than anything else. Out of the corner of your eye you notice it forming another tentacle. It sheepishly backs down after you glare at it. Feeling slightly better, you pick up the candlestick, thinking about the feelings of growth and freshness you associate with what you've decided to dub the 'green' power, imagining them flowing into your arms like the first power did.

A trickle of energy pours into the tarnished silver, flowing upward towards the candle. As it passes, the nature of the silver shifts, first becoming a smooth brown, then developing a rough, textured shell, almost like bark. When the wave of transformation reaches the candle, a less dramatic shift takes place. The wax takes on a greenish hue, while the wick hardens and darkens. A dark curtain creeps over your eyes, blocking the room from view! Oh, wait. That's hair. Your hair. It's a bit longer than you remember, but at least the color is right.

How strange. Last you checked, you had lost all of your hair. You certainly didn't have it before you touched those new gems. Probable cau- damned thing, why did the blob start flowing in circles around you?-cause, what changed recently? Wait. Waaaaait. You stare at the animate not-water. It stops swirling, piling up in front of you with a slight bounce. Maybe...? You giggle for a moment before breaking into a lively certainly-not-at-all-sinister laugh. Magic solves everything!

Still, there's another question. As if responding to a silent query, the shrine grinds over to you, stopping a foot or so away and shifting slightly to face you. For a moment you catch a whiff of incense, of the setting of the sun in an airy chamber, of a faint memory of reaching out in a way disconnected from time and space. Shaking it off, you stand and leave the room, stopping at the first torch you reach. After a moment of hesitation you light the transformed candle from the weak flame. The 'candle' looks a bit longer than it was when you entered the basin room. Or does it? You aren't sure if you're remembering correctly. The wick catches, a pale green-yellow flame, giving off a faint scent of pine. Close enough.

You head back down the long corridor, searching the first room you reach. It proves to be empty, and you continue. The next opening in the wall leads down a short hall terminating in a heavy wooden door.

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))
