The slab will pay for its insults! Return, and try to animate it.

If it doesn't work, hit it again.

You consider and reject several courses of action in a few seconds. Rational action is for the weak! You backtrack as best you can, eventually arriving at the circular ritual room where you first woke, with the carnizelle trailing after you like a... well, actually, nothing at all like a lost puppy. Confronting your first and greatest enemy, you trade glares with that damnéd stone altar, setting your candlestick aside for the moment.  Concentrating on that primordial sensation, you slam your open hands onto the bloodstained surface, black ooze flowing from your palms and spreading quickly to envelope most of the altar with a thin sheen.

Over the course of several minutes the slime eats away at the altar, carving through the rough stone to form a sort of miniature shrine. For some reason it seems vaguely familiar to you, though you don't know why. This done, the viscous ooze takes on an oily purplish hue, appearing to soak into the stone. With a faint rumble the mini-shrine takes its first baby steps, somehow moving as if it were a living thing. You feel strangely empty, and yet looking at your new pet and the crumbled remains of the slab you are... satisfied. Yes, quite satisfied. Have to show those inanimate objects who's boss, after all.

More left hand exploration while waltzing with our animated friends.

What does the (2) after animated mini-shrine mean? are there two of them? is it the second one?

That indicates the amount of power necessary to maintain it. It'll vary based on the size and complexity of whatever it is you're animating or reanimating. Creating life from inanimate objects is more complex than reanimating a dead body of similar size, and the larger and more powerful something is the more power you'll need to (re-)animate and control it. Cantrip-level spells (in this case, reanimating one or two small vermin) are free. So if you wanted to reanimate a rat, sure, but if you wanted to reanimate, say, a dozen rats, that'd take a unit of power. Other types of power you may gain in the future will not necessarily function in an identical manner, apart from allowing free cantrips, however.

You return to the room you bypassed shortly before you found your first toothy friend. It is strangely shaped, like four circles joined at a center point, and the damage has only made it worse, nearly blocking off half of the room. There's little here but rubble, it seems, until you see a bit of green amidst the sea of heavily-shadowed grey and brown. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be a medium-sized knapsack. How convenient, you think! How thoughtful of these dead strangers to help you accessorize! You take the bag and promptly forget that it exists.

As you double back yet again, you shift the carnizelle meat from your pockets to the knapsack. Never know when you might need to carry more rocks. You search a pair of heavily damaged rooms, finding nothing useful, and then proceed down a long, unlit corridor. Remembering your previous experience with these, you tread carefully. Something seems amiss, but it doesn't quite click until you are nearly at the next corner. At that point you can't help but notice that most of the light is blue-white and spilling from the doorway you're approaching, rather than the flickering yellow of your candle, or the dim orange of the torches.

This chamber is rectangular, with convex corners and two slender columns along each side. A few empty beds are set against the side walls with more unidentifiable furniture buried under the collapsed far wall. At the center of the room is the apparent source of the light, a small basin set into the floor, mostly filled with a clear liquid. You can barely make out a few small objects at the bottom of the pool.

Animate fluid, then have it collect your loot.
De-animate the shrine first.

Animate fluid, then have it collect your loot.
De-animate the shrine first.
Then de-animate the fluid, and reanimate the shrine.
