Drop the arm if we need space for the pendant.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

You don't think that a bit of metal small enough to be a choking hazard for young children will impede you from carrying around a body part or three, provided that the donors weren't particularly chunky in life.

Searching the room for holes shaped like the pendant proves to be fruitless; there are many holes, but they are shaped like missing pieces of wall and ceiling. You suppose that it was too much to hope that life would resemble clichéd adventure stories.

Make a bag, then leave and follow the left-hand side.

Light the candlestick on any of the torches you see, if it has any candles in it.

You try to fashion a bag from the sleeve of the crushed corpse's robe, but the result is less than satisfactory. It might make a decent cap for a small child, if they were willing to overlook it being soaked with blood. That won't do at all. Noticing that your torch is guttering out, you hastily light the candle from it, dropping the charred stick. There is a broken stump around 2in. high remaining in the candlestick, and the small flame burns steadily.

You leave the room, backtracking into the corridor you came from, following it to the T-intersection and taking a left, keeping your free hand on the wall. You can see soot stains at periodic intervals, and the floor is lightly dusted with bits of stone and mortar, as well as the occasional patch of dried blood. Just past the T-intersection is a large scorched area stretching several feet away from you. You pass by an opening on the right side of the passage, continuing on until you reach another junction. The corridor continues, slightly offset to the left, and is split by another running perpendicular to it.

What do?

It works if we have perfect knowledge of space which we already passed (which we do). If we keep left and stumble onto a space where we've already been, all we have to do is find the nearest unexplored space and continue with the rule.

You continue to take left turns, making your careful way along the passage until you reach another fork. Again you take the left, heading through a winding corridor in the same shoddy condition as the rest of this place. After several turns you arrive at a second fork, though this one nicely solves the problem of choice, as the left hand fork is blocked by another collapse. You take the right and, with a few steps, enter a square room slightly smaller than the chamber where you awoke.

Looking around, this room seems to be in better condition than anything else you've seen. Splintered bits of a door are scattered around the entrance, but apart from that the furniture is largely intact. A small cot sits in the far left corner, while a battered table is pushed against the far wall, a rickety chair lying on its side beneath it. Atop the table is an unlit candle, perhaps three inches high, as well as a small, leather-bound book with a slip of paper marking a place near the front cover.

You cross the room to the table, setting the chair aright and settling down for a read. Absentmindedly you snap the candle on the table free from a puddle of hardened wax and pocket it, then flip the book open. You're slightly surprised to discover that you can read it, even if the language is rather archaic. It appears to be some sort of historical account, though it is so heavily laden with embellishments that it could be described more accurately as a legend. Skipping forward to the paper marker, you set the folded scrap aside for the moment.

A particular passage has been marked with a scribbled star; it seems to reference a magician who conducted some sort of sacred ritual to call forth aid from another plane, though you doubt that some of the things depicted are physically possible once, much less for three days and nights. Several sentences about the "servant" summoned by the ritual have been underlined. They discuss the servant's preternatural ability to form something called "grafted prana" into coherent spells within minutes of absorbing it; apparently this is a notable ability and was believed to be an effect imposed by the ritual. However, given that the next paragraph is devoted to a description of the magician and her servant beating a dragon to death with another dragon, the veracity of this information is questionable.

After a moment, you unfold the paper. It carries a few notes written in a cramped hand.

Search the cot for traps.
