I can't help but think that there is something wrong with asking a pet to help us get stuck down a well...

"Water," you rasp, Basin, go find some water." He swirls around you, then flows smoothly out of sight down the unexplored passage. Loath to wait around doing nothing, you concentrate power in your left hand, concentrating on the thought of water as you guide it into the meeting of the floor and wall, exhausting yourself in the process. The stone cracks and bulges, thin vines quickly spreading from the point of contact. You hastily order the golem to pick you up, narrowly avoiding being overrun by new plant life. The growth slows, adopting a more sedate but still visible rate. With a mental shrug, you tap the shoulder of the construct, a heavy plate of tile resembling a pauldron, guiding it to the room where the zombies were trapped, licking your lips as you try to focus and avoid further thoughts of water.

As you pass by the scattered half-corpses, you look them over. Nothing but tattered robes and scraps of red-dyed leather, utterly worthless. As the golem shoulders through the shattered remains of the door you motion for it to set you down, moving inside yourself. The room is tiny, less than three meters in diameter. Against wall to your left is another black-robed corpse, hands closed around a crossbow bolt imbedded in his gut. On the opposite side are a pair of corpses in the same sort of red leather. Or rather, one headless corpse and a pair of legs. Evidently you weren't the first one to meet that big golem. Speaking of which, a substantial chunk of the ceiling is missing. Next to the legs and circle of dry gore is the hilt of a shortsword, perhaps half an inch of blade remaining, the metal bright where it was snapped  off. Bits of it are scattered around the room, as you discover after nearly stepping on a shard.

The relatively intact leather-clad corpse is holding the remains of a light crossbow, though the bow and forward third of the stock have been splintered; the thing is useless. A quiver with six steel-tipped bolts remaining sits on the her hip. A crest is emblazoned on the left breast of the armor, as well as on the hilt of the broken sword: a stylized flame surrounding a sword-breaker positioned hilt-up. After going through the various sets of pockets, you recover a handful of silver and bronze coins, as well as a worn steel and bit of flint. You shiver violently; it feels like an ice storm in here.

The clothing of both of the relatively intact corpses is in better condition than what you have; the robe has only a single hole and a bloodstain the size of your hand, while the leathers and cloth beneath are almost untouched, save for the ring of bloodstains around the collar; the latter might actually come somewhere within a continent of fitting you, to boot. Basin has been gone for more than ten minutes. Glancing at the wand, your eyes widen slightly in shock. It has been burning the whole time you were asleep, but it actually looks slightly longer than when you passed out however many hours ago; the candle is nearly four inches long now! Staring at the flame, you feel a little dizzy.

Have golem carry you, and your altar, to the water plant, then after basin, and along the way meditate on your magic, try to detect if there is any loose magic inside yourself.

Look into that awesome green candle, nothing could possibly go wring!

Put on the red leather armor and then a robe over that. Grab the quiver. Also, try and find some shoes.

take off the old robe, put all the loot except the red leathers on it, wrap up the bundle and have the golem carry it. put the red leathers on. then have the golem carry me out the direction basin went, there is no water here.

You stole my thoughts, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking of saying, before I noticed you beat me to it!  All I have to add is that we first cut off the crest, so we can ask about it later and so that we won't be branded as a member of that group should our robe get damaged.  If our personality is dark or playful, cut a strip of cloth as a bandanna.  Just because I think that would look cool.

Wrap yourself in a warm cocoon of clothing and have the golem carry you around like a cigar...

I'd offer other actions, such as gathering the bits of metal and animating them, or changing clothes, but we really need to find some water, and our broken arm doesn't help the whole 'change clothes' action. I'd say just bundle up, but none of the available clothe is actually free, so lets just have our golem trundle us in the direction of basin.
Look at the water plant along the way, (hopefully it isn't what it looks like- a surface growth).
Thought:
Use green power on robes, maybe they'll get patched?
Another thought:
The last plant may have been a tap root because we fired it from the wand- more concentrated.

Also: If we choose to try to change armor, hopefully we won't wind up with a failed attempt & wasted turn hmm? (guys?)

fair point, but there's no reason to force us to backtrack later. and i want to know what happens if you animate a group of crossbow bolts at the same time... later. so how about have the armored golem take all the loot in one arm, and carry us in the other, and continue searching for water.

I don't really see any problems with back-tracking. We sort of have an emergency here, our plant-self needs to drink...

Have you guys ever tried changing clothes with a broken arm? What about when you have a broken arm, just came back from a period of toxic-magic-induced unconsciousness & are exhibiting symptoms of severe dehydration? (Fever, dizziness, (severe thirst); we came into the game kinda thirsty- haven't found any water since, haven't done the business or anything.)

Question: Is this a radius/ulna fracture or a humerus fracture?
