Yeah, shutting it down at night is probably the best solution. Even better since it's a laptop. Just shut it down when you go to sleep and pull out the cord already, if it has a half-decent battery you can leave it there to shut down without a problem.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

I forgot what was this topic about when I read "kiss jesus dicks" and then I didn't feel like reading the whole thing again.

If you are already drunk, I suggest drinking more.

Christ is pure no more.

The fact that it's plural (jesus dicks) just creeps me out more.

Well generally if my computer is doing something bad I take the power cord out, put it in timeout and plug it back in. Sometimes it continues to be naughty and it needs the belt, though.

That's how I broke my laptop. Don't do that when it's doing something important I guess.

It's not broke, it just needs a few good sprays of a water bottle and put into its carrier for awhile. Be sure to assert that what it did is a 'no-no' and it shouldn't be installing automatic updates on the carpet anymore. You have to be tough with technology.

Windows 8 is the worst offender. When it wants to update it doesn't even give you a choice to skip it. There is no "Shutdown" option at all, only "Update and Shutdown". So if you were in a hurry somewhere and had to pack up the laptop fast, well tough luck.

I'll change to Windows 8 like ten years later or so. Even updating from XP to Windows 7 was a big difference for me.

Windows 7 already restarts for updates without warning me. What's the difference?

Alt+F4 on Windows 7 opens a menu where you can select an option for shutting down without update
Atleast for me.

Where did Microsoft leave their sense when they made Windows 8?
Absolutely no skipping? Thats fuckign stupid.
Its like they catered the system to dumbfucks who cant handle a shit on their own.

The store even bans violent games and the whole operating system bans Steam.
My next computer gonna have to run Linux by the looks of it.
