Real Lives Stories
« on: April 10, 2013, 12:11:34 pm »

Real Lives is a life simulation game. It's a pretty fun game too. If you have the 2010 version you can just copy the story or just narrate.

Here's my life.

That was somewhat of an interesting read, but it didn't really tell me anything about the game.

You should spoiler the story and add links and screenshots.

Links maybe? Or are you just trying to be clever with your life story?

Well, Real Lives isn't free. You can just Google, don't download the one from Softronic though. The trial ends as soon as you install it.

Reading the very first post does help.

My new life that started in Bangladesh and ended up in North Korea (illegaly) resulted in me having 365 trillion wons. Sadly, my house was broken into and burglarized. Not to worry though, I still have loads of money and I'm livin' the dream.

No, really, it doesn't.  You gave us three terse sentences, and an output dump.  Put that under a spoiler fold, man.

Also, this doesn't seem like much of a game...  more like a procedural background generator.  What do you even do in it, besides tell the program to run?  The fact that someone is actually charging for this boggles my mind.

You cause what happens to you after. You'll have to try since I can't really explain. It's like Alter Ego. Just not web-based, and you have more decisions.

The richest man in Pyongyang, North Korea died 62 year old of kidney disease. (my character). It was eventful. Both of my parents died before me. My 30 year old daughter died of an asthma attack. My sister (50 years old) died. It's pretty much my wife, daughter and other sister now.

Check the links I posted, dude.

Essentially, it's similar to a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' style game, though a little more in depth.

You are randomly born a male or a female, to a random set of parents in a random country. Each year you progress, certain events may or may not happen to you. You may or may not be sent to school, forcing you to find a job and work your way through life yourself, you can change jobs, travel to different countries (legally and illegally) to try and make a better life for yourself, set what you spend on food/luxuries/housing/transport, meet a partner and have a child.

You will, eventually, die - so this is basically you taking control of someone from birth to death as a playthrough.

It's quite basic, there are no real graphics to speak of, but it's not terrible. It's not worth the price they're asking though.

It's better when you don't finish a whole game in one sitting.

I was born to a rural Chinese family, moved to a bigger city, emigrated to Poland, and died of breast cancer.
I stupidly didn't go to college because I forgot to.

Born in Uzbekistan, learned law, worked as a lawyer there, earned good money, moved to the USA illegally, then lived lavishly(max everything) until my death, working as a community organizer.

Why are all of my characters removed from school?

From the 10 characters I tried to play, only one has finished school and he had such bad stats, that he didn't even get to college.

God DAMN I love this game!
