set observer to signal us when the situation changes, then move on to other tasks.
launch rover to 0,0
have rover gather samples of everything from areas scouted by observer, then return to 0,0 for pickup. avoid all threats and do not explore new areas with rover.

Upon peering into anomaly, sound appears to have been fallen weaponry pod. Anomaly age adjusted farther back than previously to account for failing holding components.
