Gerome had nodded off, until he heard a gunshot and a large cawing noise from outside the train.

"...wha, hah? Thanksgiving already?"

Quote from: Marianne
"Gerome, you protect this lady, will you?"

He was about ask, protect who with what from what, when he peeked out the window and spotted the bird gawping.

He turned back to Rhea, taking up a poor boxing stance in her defense, continuing to look out the window.

"...erm, I'll protect you Ma'am. Just stay behind me!

Gerome Blake, by the way. A pleasure to meet you."
he added on instinct, throwing one of his charming smiles her way. Probably not the best time, but he couldn't turn the charm off...

Quote from: Rhea
"...They'll be alright, right?" she said to the man.

"I guess we'll see, huh?" he offered noncommittally.

Action: Try to get a look at the bird in greater detail than the people shooting it will

"I'll never be able to hit it from this position."

Silas climbs onto the car behind them so that he can get a better shot at the creature.

Rhea leaned over one of the train seats at Gerome's suggestion.

"I've never seen birds that huge and...electrified? Ok...ok, birds. Giant birds."

Thoughts raced in her head about how to actually be helpful without the use of a gun. All she had was a knife and her wits.

"I'll...try to get the conductor. We could get this thing running as long as that thing is off us."

Action: Confront the conductor - suggest to get the train running when that bird is OFF our roof. Also, how are the things up front? Glance at gorge.

Alexander cocks the gun for another shot, the bird diving closer and closer to him. Alexander fires just a moment too early, still blasting its shoulder(-4hp), but giving the bird a chance to claw his own shoulder(-2hp)

-=-

Silas climbs atop the car, giving him an better view on the bird, which is currently trying to take off. He manages to line up a shot on it(-3hp), which is made markedly easier with the higher ground and the range he's firing from.

-=-

Marianne fires on the bird(-2hp), moving into better cover.

-=-

Gerome watches the bird intently, noticing that while it's nearing death, it's still not quite there yet.

-=-

Filhurd well, just heads back in.

-=-

Rhea finds the conductor hiding away at the front of the train.

"Well, that is a fine idea and all, but well..."

Upon looking ahead, one could see the issue with continuing on, as the rails lead to a bridge, that appears to have been recently .
The damage to the bridge seems bad enough that a train going across would almost definitely end in quite a bit of death.

-=-

The train's lights flicker slightly as the bird tries to draw energy from the train, enveloping itself in more electricity.

(As much as I hate to point out something in my favor, you forgot to deduct a round from my revolver. ^^^; Also, nice work getting us the HP total D. :3)

Marianne waits for an opportune moment, taking careful aim at the bird before firing again.

(He also failed to deduct a bullet from me.)

Now that he's in a good position to fire, Silas tries his best to land a shot in the beast's heart.

Gerome put two and two together-the...creature...was drawing power from the train...which was bad.

So they had to shut it down! His group should have no problem shooting the brightly glowing beast in the dark.

He only blanched a moment, at the thought of the real darkness waiting outside. Then again, he'd feel alot worse if his sister was eaten by a giant bird monster...

"I'm going to cut off that things source of juice, everyone be ready!" He called out, moving quickly.

Action: Go and shut off power in the train. No, I don't know how trains work. I assume there's a fuel generator providing power to the lights and such...switch it off.

Turn it back on if we kill or drive away the creature.

"Then the train is not our alternative mode of transport anymore," Rhea said to the conductor as she turned back towards the entrance of the front of the train, "We need to get where we need to, and I've just an idea how."

Hoping scholarship proves worthwhile...

Rhea ran back towards where the others generally were, telling them of our predicament up front, and upon hearing what Gerome was saying, decided to add a bit of her own in the loudest voice she could muster.

"Don't kill the bird! We've no other mode of transport from here on out! Subdue it!"

Observe scenery//Try to aid Gerome in his plan if my action is considered idling.

"Subdue it? How exactly do you propose we subdue a giant electric bird?"

Rhea gave Silas a look of confusion, and perhaps exasperation.

"It would be weird if it fully runs on electricity...Good point."

As the others were busy with their guns outside, and the chaos of the battle, there was only a few things that drifted through the mind which could answer the question of subduing.

AC/DC? No. It draws power. What does this train run on? I'm not even sure if it runs on steam or not...Or if it has batteries - it still uses rails, which does mean its not magnetic. But wait, magnetic technology hasn't even been widespread...only in researches. Ok, hypothesis out. It's the early 20th century, not much has progressed...Ugh. Foreign countries.

Ok. Think think think think...its drawing power. It must be somehow insulated?

"...A very high shift in electricity. Gerome! Anyone, is there a way we could reverse the power a- I'll get the conductor!"

Action: Amend; Get that Conductor and get his aid!

Marianne fires on the bird, not giving it much of a wound(-1hp) but gaining its attention.
It draws its head back and lets loose a surge of electricity at her.(-2hp)

-=-

Silas steadies his aim on the bird's chest, only to have it jerk away suddenly, making his shot significantly less fatal.(-2hp)

-=-

Alexander's hand rushes to his pocket for another shotgun shell. He loads it, and blasts the now distracted bird.(-1hp)

-=-

Gerome makes his way to some sort of electrical control panel and manages to cut off power to most of the train after a bit of fiddling with it.

-=-

The conductor gives Rhea a slightly worried look.
"Er, yes? What is it this time?"
