Author Topic: The mysterious beast known as hamachi (relayed tunnel, want direct tunnel back)  (Read 57505 times)

Okay here's the thing, last night me and a pal were using hamachi to play a fighting game cross internet because he couldn't host for some reason. Worked fine, we had direct tunnel access, little bit of lag but that's to be expected. Tonight, it's relayed (after some fiddling to get it out of "direct tunnel, blocked"). I've done a ton of googling on how to get it back to direct tunnel and if I have to do it much longer I think I'm going to burst. I doubt there's much to be done but I figured I'd ask here;

Does anyone have any idea how to get it to work again?

Disconnect and reconnect. If that fails, try it again.
Hamachi can be temperamental at times, but the 'turn it off and on again' method works well.

Did you disconnect the specific network, or disconnect to Hamachi?
I always used the second and had something like a 10% success rate... Which it ok when you can just keep doing it.

We are both clicking the power button, and have tried flipping the disconnect network option on and off once.

Take a deep breath, and do a handstand for as long as you can.

Report back to us with any results.

Headstand still unresponsive.

Realtalk: We've decided to bail on hamachi because if it broke this fast is it really worth using really?

So thanks for the help/snark.

Are you sure you didn't leave Hamachi on over-night and your Local IP changed?  I also hate it, but when I was forced into using it once it didn't like it whenever my IP changed or conflicted with another 192.168 etc.

Press the Windows button and 'r' at the same time. Type 'services.msc' and press enter. Find logmeinHamachi. Do something with the word 'tunnel' in it, my memory is getting a little hazy here >.>

faekedit: I just saw you ditched Hamachi. Meh. Nevermind me.

I also was going to suggest restarting the Hamachi Tunneling Service in services.msc.
