Changing Race
« on: April 08, 2013, 05:50:11 am »

So I've been looking about for this and haven't been able to find it, is there a mod for playing a different race, namely, humans? For 0.34.11, past attempts finagling with older version mods seem to produce problems. Also, first post, yay.

There are several mods for playing different races.  Masterwork has Orcs and Kobolds as options within the mod.  There are also separate mods for the current Dwarf Fortress for Succubi and Fire Imps.  I am not aware of any mods made for the current version of Dwarf Fortress that allow you to play as humans though.

Ah, any way to remove the foreign tags on weapons and increase the size of dwarves?

Edit: And remove dependence on alcohol?

Foreign weapons are those which are not listed in your civilization's entity file.  Add them there and they will become domestic (this also means they'll be craftable at your forges and stuff)

In the creature file, change BODY_SIZE and delete ALCOHOL_DEPENDENT

...

but if you're asking because you want to make the dwarves human-like... the only thing you really need to start a Humans mod is to add [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] to the human entity

Thanks! I've been digging through the entity file, :3.
