My advice (as a veteran of multiple failed LPs), is to establish an update schedule and don't get off it. The moment you get off it, you'll update slower and slower and then not at all. I believe it's the reason most LPs fail.

Anyway, for game advice, you have lots of money left over. You should get more scientists (I max out my current living quarters, generally), since science is so important. It's basically your main resource. The more you research, the more of an advantage you'll get over the aliens, and the faster you can end the game. I'd also get another long range sonar. The UFOs are pretty elusive in TFTD. For this mission itself, I hope you brought electroflares ;). Otherwise, I'd just get out. It's probably not worth it. Send a barracuda over and shoot it down when the aliens finish their "mission", and come back during the daytime.

Oh boy. TFTD. Certainly a hard game, not a fan of the original base layout though, so make sure you can defend that thing well in the ridiculously common base defense missions.
I'm going to rearrange the base layout to a more defensible position when money permits.
[Noob advice, disregard if stupid]
For any species we need captured to get research goodies, send stunner in taking cover behind tank.
Probably sensible, but not yet as the containment facility isn't quite built.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to keep to an update schedule, and buggering out sounds good 'cause night missions are just, well, nightmares in TFTD.
Next update should be out tomorrow or the day after, more likely tomorrow.

Oooooh, TFTD. How did I miss this? Please sign me up, as this is my favorite game of all time.

Name: Dr. Doktorov
Equipment: Medkits, and pistols. Once available, Thermal Shok Launcher.
Personality: Noble and grumpy. Resentful of the soldiers for getting hurt so much.

I look forward to reading this :D

Soldier Name: MaxClone1
Preferred Weapon: The heaviest of heavy weapons.
Soldier Personality (for battlefield chatter): Trigger happy, slightly unstable, and 'SPLODEY!

The original Max Greene was killed in a horrifying flying suit prototype failure, before X-Com had an actual enemy. However, enough of his body was found to make clones, to make use of his vastly high potential. Clones of Max Greene (henceforth known as "Maxclones") have been used in numerous experiments, mostly thanks to the clones' bravery, extreme overconfidence, self-destructive tendencies, and love of explosions. An international treaty has been signed to keep no more than one Maxclone in any infantry unit, due to an almost suicidal urge to engage in combat when in a theater of operations. This has resulted in extreme losses to civilian escorts, soft targets within range of the clones, and munitions. While in base, the Maxclones are happy to exaggerate rumors and stories to absurd levels, and drink as much alcohol as humanly possible, especially when allowed to associate with one another. They tend to shy away from training and exercise, except Combatives and Explosives training, and shirk responsibilities whenever possible. All in all, the Maxclones are not terribly good soldiers, but when properly motivated, they are a force of destruction like no other. Most Maxclones are short, caucasian, and dark haired. All identify as Americans.
Your X-Com outfit has been forced to accept awarded six of the MaxClones. They await your orders.

Guh. Jesus H. Christ I have 253 screenshots to sort through and upload. This update might take a bit longer than I thought, but it should be up later tonight or tomorrow.

An X-com mission... and noone died horribly?

This seems... wrong, somehow.

"Indeed, but by my memory, the engagements during the rather disagreeable situation previous included a multitude of deaths near-constantly... Which I suppose means that our victory is but more reason for exuberance."

Ragnarok organizes a formal celebration dinner of how well that last engagement went. All very Highbrow. Any who are unable to dress properly will be prepared for from his own resources.
