I disagree with the change to the weapons. Why would we want to hinder our creations by making it so they don't work well unless the user is working together with others? It seems almost like you're trying to force us to help you. Where would the fun of the game be if the established rules said "Play nice, or else"? It hinders our freedom and makes the game boring, because no one wants to do anything to create conflict.

GM: you know what? i think i'll go ahead and do it anyway. please add to my moon customization petition a small (pop-15) tribe of humans at the middle depth (below twilight, above hot springs). they are new arrivals, have not acomplished anything yet, and are at stone-age level tech. the ecosystem around them has not yet adapted to their presence, and they have not explored the area around them, nor adapted at all to the region yet.

The Seekers are just ethereal beings of energy that are capable to interact physically with others. So it is kind of hard to have a unifying description when you have no physical body to start off with.

My avatar is a skinny humanoid who has bright red eyes with no mouth, and has only two small holes where the nose and ears are suppose to be. For skin it has a sleek black carapace, with tentacles that are constantly moving which are coming out of its back.

Also for my avatar's powers can you change "change" to "create" since change and manipulation are kind of the same thing.

The Gaiaweapons, in the original description, DID say that they could only be used if everyone agreed on it, so we didn't go around slaughtering each other with them. We could probably make them as powerful as what we wrote at first, but then just going nova if we all agree on them.

um, there is no source of conflict other than ourselves. this is why i am planning on voting no to them, despite the fact that i'm doing what i can to contribute to them and keep them a good addition for when i get overruled. for them to have purpose, we're going to need an opposing force. so either us or the GM will end up creating a council of Dark Deities, or a universe eater, or something, simply so the gaiaweapons will have a reason to be used.

also, it was never actually said we had to agree on their use, simply that they had to be used together. in theory one random fool from one of our races could collect all of them and then proceed to use them to rule the universe against all of our wishes.

GWG, how about you abandon your mass customization petition and we just pass everyone's individual customization ones? there's really no reason to have constant changes going on to the worlds we're designing.

Secondly, it will allow us to be quicker to respond when something goes wrong.
Thirdly, there are so many queued petitions and so few we vote on, that it takes a while to get ANYTHING done.
Fourthly, I'm starting to get a bit tired of "Petition to Do Anything: The 'Game'". I'd like to be able to do more than vote and submit a few petitions that will probably be voted on in a week or two.

As a suggestion from the GM, why don't you raise a motion to make moon customization petitions free?

In part because I have no idea what you're talking about.

You seem to not understand that petitioning stuffs and being a deity isn't the whole game, and the game actually revolves around avatars and heroes. This is why you can only submit 10 petitions in Midgame, then somebody will take your role while you will have to be a Hero.

you're using the example of asking before buying a couch to justify not needing to ask before making a warbot. you're asking for too much leeway.

A warbot that's only useable on yourself. I'm still unconvinced that there's a danger of people abusing this danger to make absurd superweapons. Besides, again, this comes up if we have direct control over anything--and if we're never allowed to do anything without waiting a while for it to finally come up for voting and be voted on, ever, I'm probably leaving. I didn't come here to play "Bureaucracy the Game."

why not just build safeguards into the design, and have your avatar respond if the safeguards start to fail?

1. I highly doubt any design is truly safe against failures. Make it foolproof, they'll make a better fool.
2. Avatars aren't omnipotent. You'd probably need to be able to adjust your avatar's abilities, again on the fly...which leads to the exact problem that you're trying to avoid by opposing my idea, only avatars are a lot more mobile than moons.

that's why we're going to be able to vote on them in groups in a moment. right now we're waiting on jass to vote. then we will move on to his game-phase-changing petition. then when that is done, we'll be back to voting on them in groups.

The problem is that we shouldn't need to be waiting on jass unless it's something that jass needs to be involved in.

once we have a livable world to play on, then i'm expecting all the avatar petitions to be voted on soon after. after we have game pieces to play with, things will get more interesting.

Quick edit to the Gaiaweapon thing.
They can only use their god-like powers when the ten Deities and their Champions agree to work together, but they are all legendary weapons in their own rights (for example, the whip might be able to slice a man clean in half on its own, but could cut down a mountain with its true potential, or the raptoract could be 3-d and release a single beast on its own, and go 4-d and homing-beasts when fully powered).

the ebony ring is kinda an all-or-nothing deal. and it is pointless if it only works when we agree with it. therefore i need the ring to be an exception to this.

please, take ONE look at the avatars being submitted. I have by far the weakest, and even mine shouldn't be taken lightly.

I really don't want to write up a lecture on how projection of force works, but the short version is: true total control of one area leads to control of all areas.

i'm pretty sure you can make more than one if you want. it's just the avatars after the first one cost petitions. why not submit a blank "GWG Avatar" petition to get it into the q, and flesh it out later? objective can skip over it and leave it at the front of the Q if you still haven't decided by the time it comes up.
