Zero is whatever you say it is; the only important characteristic you have is that 0 + x = x.  Zero's maximum value is not mathematical, but philosophical.  As a unique inhabitant of rings, fields, and abelian groups, its importance is profound.

I still have no idea what any of that means, but it sounds damn cool. ^_^

Yes, we've had a few of these threads. I'll reply anyway, though. I picked mine due to rule of cool, and it's worked out pretty well.

My dad came up with the name Sigulbard, and I kind of inherited it. I have come up with my own names as well, like Brandrinn (from the old norse name for 'sword') and Ingvvy, which is a variation from Ingvar, one of the names I have.
