National NewsPolitics this month has been marked by division, far from the hopeful predictions heralded by the formation of the BPP, instead the Free Democratic party has formed in direct opposition preaching small efficient government, personal liberties, and the importance of the government having as little an effect on the economy as possible. The leader of the party is the well-known Benesuto Acciano of the Acciano family, the owners of one of the largest trust's in Beruland.
The controversy over representative Damien Thorne has started more than a simple debate over pedophilia and accusations of occultism, but has grown to a nationwide political battle between two groups, the Nationalists and Internationalists. The Nationalists led by Salvador Mamali have risen in stunning support of Thorne and have blamed Cosland for the accusations stating it as an attempt to foment political unrest in Beruland to their benefit. The enigmatic leader even went so far as to punch the Coslandian ambassador on live television to a enraptured crowd. The internationalists however, led by the eccentric Joseph Bridger, have begun to preach increased acceptance and pluralism within Beruland and Bridger himself has accused Mamali as being a Supremacist and war-monger. With the nation so sharply divided, riots have begun to break out on the streets between supporters of the two sides.
Cosland is in an uproar today as demands for retribution are trumpeted far and wide by every newspaper in Cosland to everyone who will care to listen. Cosland has demanded today an official apology by Representative Mamali or it will be forced to end all foreign aid and forbid the exportation of grain and other foods to Beruland. Filandy, ever watchful for a reason to oppose Cosland, has reaffirmed its support of Beruland stating it will attempt to make up for any shortage a blockade from Cosland may cause.
Some evidence of the forgery of evidence against Thorne has been discovered by official today when, after receiving a tip from an anonymous source, police searched Adam Bradley's residence. In the opinion of forensic specialists however they believe it is quite obvious the evidence was planted, but the damage has already been done in the public's eyes and opinion of Bradley has dropped.
